Well its official I need a new clutch...they said my issues are either clutch or throw something or other...either way they need to tear apart so might as well change clutch (35% left)..my mechanic said $1500 labor and I can buy parts myself...any ideas..I was told clutch kit, throw, bearings,sensor...anything missing..where is best place to buy...price is issue...what should I pay?

Thanks

Any dealership should be able to help you out, as long as they dont charge more than Maserati's suggested list price. To get new factory parts the only place to get them is from a dealer. Some shops are simply middle men in the transaction. Why not try a dealer and see if they will price match a quote from someone else.

Interesting thread as I passed up a Ferrari Scaglietti 612 for my GT because it had an F1 trans versus the Maser's ZF a.t.. Although I'll admit to looking seriously in recent weeks at an F 360 Modena in rare color with sunroof with an F1.

Greg,

Good to know. Think I'll take that 360 for a ride tomorrow.

Hi,

I get everything done at Ferrari of New England. However you can also order parts from Italy... Might be cheaper.

I changed it around 20k if I don't mistake... But I play with the car alot... ehehe! Slippage can be caused by many factors, the most common is an allignment... I got it done twice before I changed the clutch!

Hi Greg, thanks for that info! I'm about due for an F1 clutch change for my '06 GS. That item #, what website is that purchased from? Also, the dealer only charged 1k to replace the clutch? Let me know and happy new year!

P.S. MaseratiPartsUSA has that item # but it is about $2100

Ferrari of Bev Hills changed my clutch at 32Kmiles for $4400 parts and labor. I'm told that they usually don't last that long and the longest Bev Hills had seen before mine was about 23k miles. I drive the crap out of the car but I rarely downshift and instead shift to neutral when coming to a stop. That, and the fact that most of my miles are freeway miles, probably contributed to the longevity of my clutch.

It is a expensive job to do, shopping around can save you on labor.
FYI clutch is $1275, I'd shop around for labor don't forget reputable independent specialists often a lot cheaper than a dealer.

The clutch is also installed on a Ferrari California, the 360 Modena F1 clutch is an expensive one I recall those running upward of $4000.

Personally I really like the ZF transmissions.

Possibly over there, here in the US the California is only offered with a DCT gearbox. No manuals were offered. I would have to check to be 100% but I am 99%.

360 clutches are not that much, maybe the entire job with all of the parts, but not the Clutch and PP
