I must agree. If you must mess with the car, DO IT RIGHT with factory parts and get the best bodyshop craftsmen in your area to cut the trunklid for the boomerang lights. Giorgetto Giugiaro has penned some of the finest automotive designs in our era and shouldn't be messed with for the most part.

Same goes for those who put giant, useless aftermarket spoilers etc on Ferraris & Maseratis.

Again, though I don't personally see the need, if you want to add the boomerang lights, do it by all means. Just please do it correctly. As the factory would have done. (or as some maintain... should have done.)

I like the U.S. tail lights, but I do have to say the Euro lights give the car a much more exotic appearance. Our lights definitely give the car a more subdued look.

I agree the preference for the square suckers must be an American thing because us Canadians sure didn't vote for it.

I love the boomerang look - but $7k for a cosmetic mod on a car worth $35K (and depreciating) is a stretch.

Could you point me to where you see the listing of the MCV that's for sale? I was originally looking to do this conversion on a Spyder, which I don't think anyone has done, and from my research it looks like the Spyder was NEVER produced with the boomerangs. Do you think that's correct? All the searches I've done on 3200 Spyders, from which I'd wanna grab the boot lid, looks to be fitted with the US Spec tail lamps. So looking like this conversion on a Spyder would be an ordeal.

New sheet metal alone is $3600 and $3190 for a new set of taillights (4 pieces)
Sourcing a used rear end would be better but still costly.

hehe well, the car from the Netherlands with the 3200 lights, which is a GranSport MCV, is now for sale, so maybe you could just buy that car and import it to the US, then you would have the only GranSport AND the only MC Victory with 3200 lights in the US

Now the GS isn't worth much and nobody will spend a small fortune on tail lights.
