Not sure what this is but I was driving with the windows down today and hear what sounds like an electronic motor spooling up when I accelerate and spooling down as I slow down marching the speed of my wheels almost. Never heard this before. I hear it out of the drivers side window toward the rear.

What couldn't be? F1 relay? Bad pump? Car starts and shifts seem fine.

I'd put money on a wheel bearing - find a good wall to drive next to so that you get the reflected sound.

The other possibility I have experienced is the E-Brake line rubbing a tire intermittently.
That's what I thought too because I heard it most at the pump at the gas station and when I had cars next to me in medium to slow traffic. Would suck thought because I just had some work done on the car and it only has 37k on it

If it sounds “zippy” it’s most likely the E Brake line, left unsecured after some work on the rear wheels perhaps?

I am curious to know what you find out.

When I got my car I had a noticeable audio amplifier whine. I fixed that but occasionally I get a faint whine what increases in frequency with speed. I always thought it was still related to the audio system but now I start to wonder...

I found a local private mechanic that works on Ferraris among other things and he will take a look at it for me but could be a few weeks before he has availability. Happy to report back. Will be safe with the car until then

Was finally able to catch it on video. It was pretty much gone for a day or two but was able to hear it right before getting home today. Turn up the volume and listen for the high pitched spooling sound that matches wheel speed.

Video Link Below:

It's not that crazy sound at the end btw ... that was a bus.

Not withstanding @Jason@ Enzo`s Atlanta perfectly accurate response I could only hear anything untoward on deceleration and my money would be on a heatshield / stone guard or pad or shoe dragging very lightly on a rotor.

If you have an IR thermometer you could go for a drive then hope out and measure the temperature of each rotor. Helped me diagnose a sticking pad on my Bentley.

But a tech will find out if it's that in nothing flat.

Eagerly looking to get in there. Rotors and pads are new. Hopefully it's not doing serious damage ugh

Interesting, it does seem to be a "wheel" noise. Mine is still more "electrical" in nature and I suspect it is still related to the speakers.

We do this weekly on here and if you haven't noticed no one is ever correct in the diagnosis like 95% of the time..Just saying...Noises in cars are hard to fix..They use a lot of aluminum in cars these days and it carries noise like a mofo...J
