Hi. I read some previous older posts regarding OBD2 readers / scanners. Has anyone found a good scanner that will read and reset codes plus do the Service Required reset (typically done after an oil change / service). I just bought a 2015 GranTurismo Sport a week ago and because we live in a smaller community I thought it would be wise to buy a scanner and have it in case a problem cropped up. Thanks!

Not really - I went to 5 different garages with high end scanners like Snap-On and none of them even showed Maserati!! Had to go to a 6th shop where they had a Launch brand scanner that finally had Maserati and they were able to reset the “service certificate expired” after the oil change.

Yeah with Maserati you cant go by what the product should do or what is advertised it can do. Basically unless someone has tried them, its a crap shoot if it will do, or display, the one thing you need for your particular year.

I can confirm the autel TS608 will access all modules, reset the service light, and access the TPMS module and clear those codes.
Only issue is its about $500.

I bought what @timado404 posted above. Works great, shows all the codes I've needed thus far and seems very robust. It allows for the service/oil light reset.

It's 100% equivalent to the $500 Autel MK808 but leverages the cloud to pull data, so the OBD scanner is super basic and it's tied to a single Manufacturer. The MK808 downloads all the necessary stuff to the device itself, which may be easier for a shop to use, but way overkill compared to the $49 device posted above.

If you need to use it for another Manufacturer, there's a yearly fee, so it makes more sense to just buy a 2nd $49 device for another manufacturer (possibly just connected to a different phone to keep things simple).

If you want a more extensive scanner, I have the Foxwell NT530 that works well on mine.
2021 New Version Foxwell NT530 All-System OBD2 Scanner Code Reader Support Bi-Directional Scanner
I looked into this scanner. Looks like a good one. I also have GM vehicles so they said to buy the English / Maserati version with two softwares and once I receive it, I download the Maserati software then email them the serial number and they send a link to download the GM software. $300 Cdn

This scanner works directly with your phone, is easy to set up and it gives you ALL the OBD info taht dealers have access too for 1 vehicle of your choice for FREE! I naturally chose the GranTurismo and have reset my maintenance light on my 13 and my buddies on his 16 without issue. This will even scan all your systems and tell you if operating properly. The hardest part of the set up is getting the European All for it, Wich was just simply downloading it.

Just my $0.02 here, but I splurged on a Launch x431 when I did my first DIY service on my F430. I figured I saved so much on that one service the Launch paid for itself, then every time I use it after that was just a bonus.

Hi Guys,
I bought the Foxwell NT530 and it works well on the individual control module scans for the most part and it resets the maintenance items such as oil reminder etc. Do you have any issues with it doing a "quick scan"? Mine starts the scan, first looks at ME7 engine then flips to ME9 (which I have), does the scan, moves to the A/T - Gearbox Scan and then when it moves to the NFR (brake system) it locks up and I get a message "contact dealer" on the DIC on the car??? Also when I do the individual control modules it works on all except the NFR / Brake system - same thing happens? Any comments? Foxwell engineer is working on a solution....

Foxwell NT 530 worked great as you recommended. Service has been reset. thank you.
Seems like we all have different experiences with this unit...my quick scan only shows 2 items...(useless for what I want to do) and the engineer had to send you a file not available when you update using their web site? And Fill's GTMC was able to reset his service light?
So many questions, so little answers...

Hey Guys,
Been reading the posts on scanners and as always, very helpful. Looking to get a pretty robust unit that can clear the service wrench and give me pretty good capability reading/clearing codes and analyzing systems live (not sure what the future holds) without breaking the bank. Based on your input seems the Foxwell NT530 or the Autel maxAP 200 might be the way to go although I've read some reviews on failed bluetooth to Iphone connection issues on the Autel. Looking for your final thoughts on something that definitely works good on a 2014 Granturismo MC. Thanks..

Hi. I am really happy with the Foxwell NT 530. Foxwell is out of China so response emails can be delayed but they have been great. Their engineer sent me a number of updates and the scanner scans and resets virtually everything on my 2015 GranTurismo Sport. Very pleased and great value, low cost.

Tim, hell you forgot about a bunch of stuff on a 355...The heat ex-changer, headlight motors, oil leaks, valve guides...etc...No offense, but we literally call them douche bag 355s in the shop as every owner is gonna sell it when we quote them a belt service  ...We are kinda done with 328s, 348s, and 355s as a business...Dump that thing Tim in this hot market and wait and get you a 430 F1 car....J

Hello. New to this forum. Spent a great deal of time searching for an inexpensive diagnostic tool that resets the oil maintenance wrench on my 2016 Ghibli. After contacting the technical support of the 6 most popular manufacturers in Amazon, I purchased and successfully reset the maintenance warning light (i.e. wrench) using the GODIAG GD203 tool. As of December 2023, the tool is listed in Amazon under $70. There were other diagnostic tools that claim to do the same, but they were either highly expensive ($1,500) or required a $90 license per vehicle when using 2 or more vehicles (1 license included with the $140 purchase of the tool). GODIAG includes over 80 vehicle manufacturers. All my family vehicles are included in the tool.
The only inconvenience I noted with the tool is that they recommend you update the tool software upon receipt. You figure that a new tool should come with the updated software, but that is not totally uncommon now a days. Example, Amazon firestick! It is also another way of forcing your registration. The update was fairly simple. You connect the scanner to your PC using the supplied USB wire. The PC recognizes the tool as a hard drive. You then need to run the setup file. However, the setup file was not included with my tool. I performed a google search and located the file within the vendor's website. I copied the file to the tool hard drive and ran the setup process. I think the outcome may have been the same if I'd skipped this update process. The tool update took me 30 minutes, the reset of the oil maintenance took me 5 minutes in total. Hah!
The tool is very easy and intuitive. It has a bunch of other features. Enjoy!

Well there's a couple of options (none of which you could put on the original screen):

Neat little thing. Been around for ever. Customisable.

Option 2: Replace the NIT with an Android head unit (such as one from @Robin Elliott . Then install your preferred software (such as Torque, or for the AP200) and fire up the software as and when you need it
