Hi Everyone:
Looking to change the oil in my 4.2L GT and have a pretty basic question. I need to jack up the front of the car and place it on jack stands (doing this job in my garage...no lift unfortunately). I have a regular 3 ton low-profile jack that can lift one side of the car at the prescribed jack points. The problem I have is if I am lifting the car at the jack point, where do I put the jack stand?? I am thinking of doing one side of the car and then the other.

Hopefully this is clear.

Also will I get a full drain of the crankcase if my car is inclined this way? Good enough?

Thanks Tommy. This video is amazing! Everyone should check it out. Lots of great info there for those inclined to do their own maintenance.

On jacking up the car...my question still stands. I see they put the jack stands a bit further towards the centerline of the car and NOT on the traditional jackpoints. Can anyone confirm the proper location for the jack stands?

Best place is under the sub-frame where lower control arm pivots ...Both front and back...I don't particularly like getting underneath a car so when I remove the wheel, I shove it up under the car as well for extra safety.... J
