The first thread having mysteriously vanished, I am reposting the group buy for my custom radio/nav for Mas coupes and Spyders. This incorporates a custom made bezel with the Kenwood 7" touchscreen and connects to all standard Kenwood Car Portal components. The options include radio, HD radio, satellite-XM or Sirius, Garmin naviagation, iPod, USB, bluetooth, CD changer. back-up camera, etc. We have tried to make a beautiful and functional piece which retains the oem feel as much as possible. We have engineered this to be a fully reversible install should you ever sell the car. It retains your console (relocated) and NIT so all lighting and car workings are the same. Your hazard light switch gets relocated to the dummy position on the lower console. You also have access to your original Mas trip info screen and can toggle between trip "A" and "B."
We are selling the custom screen, along with our "black box", wiring harnesses and plugs and instructions and mods for $1,995.00 US for the group buy. We will be accepting PayPal. After the buy ends, the price will be $2,195. You (or your installer) will send us your console, wiring harness, and lower console switches and we will make a small modification to them, and return it to you with the new screen painted to match. We can match all the Mas colors, black, silver/grey, and burgundy. Because of the complexity of the installation in the Mas-your interior needs to be completely disassembled- we are arranging these installs with qualified installers around the country. The design team includes myself, Jeremy from Advanced Audio Design in Sharon, MA, and Gino of Gino's Auto Sound in Parsippany, NJ. We have installers in FL, on the west coast, etc so if you don't already have an experienced Maserati/Ferrari audio installer that you'd like to work with, we will hook you up and walk the installer through the process. We have estimated you will spend in the range of $3,000 for components and installation, depending on the number of components. Also, if you do not have the Auditorium 200 upgrade, this would be a great time to replace your factory speakers.
I brought my car, an '04 Spyder, with the prototype system installed, to La Bella Machina in the Pocono's and received excellent feedback from other Mas Life forum members there. Many had chimed in on the earlier Buy thread which has disappeared. It's been fantastic having my ipod to listen to and a real nav system-btw, the nav system is upgradeable so when Garmin comes out with new maps, you can just download them. The bluetooth is totally integrated so when a call comes in, the radio silences, etc. What a difference from the factory console.
I have posted photos of the new touchscreen console. I have made a slight modification to the screen, based on input from members and pros, and have done a bad photoshop job to try to show you what it looks like. If you look at the bottom corners of the screen you will see a slight difference between pic 1 and 2. Pic 1 is my bad attempt to show it, pic 2 is my prototype as is. The fit of the the production console is perfect and we are sure you'll like the new very slight design change. It is at the manufacturer as we speak so I can't post a photo.
Please indicate if you'd like to buy and include your console color and location so we can find you an installer in your area.
