damn that sucks, I felt like the taillights would be awesome to have as an upgrade. I feel like acar would be the only company to support that project as they seem to have been the original group making all the headsets, digital dash, carbon parts, and etc.

why don't you model them after the new Maserati granturismo lights / Porsche 991 taillights. Which are basically the same as the Ghibli/levante taillights above? The only real change they need is to make the lenses only two colors (just red and clear) and then the LED style should stay that sharp diffused line, rather then the separated bigger square LEDs which is what makes the oem granturismo taillights look dated now in the first place. As the actual shape / lens of the granturismo taillight is fine , its the inside of the housing that looks dated now (the diffusion of the leds and the spacing of them)

also did you ever get updates on the "digital clock" in the dash?

Chinese holidays so nothing yet

its march now did they ever send pics?

also what else can we do to convince them of the taillight upgrade? like a group buy type of scenario for a commitment?

just seems odd to me that they've been able to create 3 or 4 different versions of the headunit, and the digital dash. which is very expensive and a lot of people online have bought.

But they are saying the taillights are harder to manufacture when it should require complex screens or programming and they already have a base framework of parts from the current aftermarket Ghibli/quatroporte/levante taillights they already make.

So I agree with you 100% the manufacturer cost for the gt is very high I tried to get them to agree a group buy if they manufacture but I wasn't success-full
I’m currently gonna try to make a set to see what kind of feedback I get .. I’m gonna start this week with a mold I’ll keep the group updated maybe that will motivate them….

The taillights have to go through DOT regulations since they replace "safety equipment" (Turn signal lights, brake lights, etc). The cost goes up due to the certification. There's a lot less GT's vs the other models.

If I were in their situation, It'd be a group buy scenario for me to do it. Almost like a Kickstarter pledge. The problem as a buyer is you may not like the design when it's released.

I hope they do something. I'd love different styles on mine and even played with designing my own.

lol , I can almost guarantee the Chinese brands making the aftermarkets taillights do not do many if at all "real" dot certification for the USA . so I don't think that's their main reason for not making it. I would assume it's more the cost and willingness to invest in the production if X amount of people haven't actually signed on.

but I was just stating that it is funny they can update the headunits and digital dashes with new programming and etc every few months, where as the taillight example would only require maybe one version and not require complicated programming or tech considering the base of the parts they already have via the Levante/ghibli/quattroporte lights they already make.

but im not complaining if anything gets created im on board since the car at its earliest is already 15 years old so any company making aftermarket parts today that work decently well is a boon for our market!

damn, well I guess we will see if anything comes of it. I was gonna treat myself to upgrading to the 2018 dash clock soon , but wanted to see this digital one first as to upgrade to the 2018 clock if you have a 2008-2017 you have to replace both the clock and the dash trim piece as the shapes are different.

Im might just make the taillights myself if no movement happens by summer time I was thinking of using a Ferrari tail light of the California and fiber glassing the rest of the opening I gonna have to get photo shop to get some ideas !I was considering using something like this if the taste to expensive

I personally hate the old clock it looks dated..so I changed it to a volt meter Dremel the sides then use Bondo to cover the gaps and paint with trim paint I also moved the heated seats and shorten the shifter View attachment 155325
you should buy the Maserati digital gauge cluster, it really makes the car feel 10 years younger and it has the battery voltage built in because that's a can bus data. The gauge cluster has a few quirks but overall displays much better info than the OEM cluster. Also while the 2008-2017 clock looks little dated with the greenish blue backlighting at night, the 2018 one was updated and looks pretty nice.

that's what I would upgrade too since it looks pretty clean to me (pending nothing becomes of the "aftermarket clock" which in digital form I think could also be made to look slick but at the end of the day we are just talking about a clock) I am only waiting to see if they have a cool design because last year I finally upgraded to that acar radio and ac panel and less then 6 months later they already came out with the 2024 GT radio clone which is even more streamlined and clean looking and combines both into one unit.

Also for your taillight design, while going a different direction could be interesting, I think there isn't a huge need to reinvent the wheel for it, I think the basic design of the gt taillights is good it just looks dated because of the diffusion lines in the lights based on how LEDs used to be diffused. I think the second generation of LED strips/bars are much more brighter which has removed the need to have all the diffusion/refraction lines in the housings. (this is similar to how headlights used to have all the cut off lines on the housings before HIDs came and were so bright that the diffusion lines in the housing weren't needed and now almost every headlight has a clear lense)
Just remaking the taillights with sharp lines LED bars would be the huge improvement like this.
