The dealership told me that I need a new EPB actuator Module , does anyone know if I can just replace the module itself and can I put one in from a quatroporto.my car is a 2011 Gran Turismo and I was looking on ebay and a guy has one fro 350.00 with the cable , I noticed that the module looks exactly like mine . can I just swap the module ,or is he electronic circuit board different. Also can I just replace it and not replace the cables . the cable seems very easy to disconnect from my old unit and attach to a new unit . and lastly will I have to have it recalibrated ,or will it just be a plug and play . any comments will be appreciated

You can probably just swap the circuit board and use your old stuff if the cables are good...You are gonna need a scan tool to do a calibration of the thing after installation...It is not plug and play....Jason

I had it replaced at the dealer once. I think $$1500 or so. The EPB brake module is very weak and the brake switch too is a high failure item. Yes, it must be programmed as Jason said.

I'm curious what symptoms or any lights on dash do you have to determine this. I'm wondering if this is what I may need.

are you talking about the brake actuator or the convertible top warning and blinking audometer ? if i don,t press the park off button on dash the brake light comes on and when i restart it i get a warning message park brake failure bring to dealer . as for the convertible top warning and the audometer blinking I seemed to fix that issue, my problem was in the steering wheel controls and back lit lights,(they stopped working a while ago and thats when my convertible top was giving me problems , so I discconected a lower ribbon wire from inside the steering wheel and my problem with that went away. Im debating weather to by a used working steering wheel but just like mine developed an internal problem ,I dont know when and how long the replacement will last. for now I am living with controls not working on steering wheel and I just remeber to press park brake off button. I really dont use or need the EPB no hills here where I live

I was talking about the brake actuator part. My abs light, brake and ecs? (I think will stay lit)

I am not sure whats causing this problem my problem is different then yours , I would bring it to an independent shop that has the proper scan tool ,to see if a fault code comes up ,may be brake actuator module or problem with a component in the abs system.

I am almost a pro in the EPB department. With Jason's help, I was able to figure out that after a dead battery or other mishaps the EPB needs to be reprogrammed. Most of the time the cable is good but slack. You can test this by pulling the switch while driving or visually inspect the lines. If you can find a Maxisys ELITE and have a friend just push or pull the brake tubes (not brake lines) while performing the calibration it will fix the error messages. Pulling the lines help compensate for the slack. Even with the slack, the parking holds very strong. If I remember correctly it's a 1/4-1/2" slack that throws the calibration off. You will need a couple of tries.

Hi there, I have the same problem with my EPB on the QP V GTS. I’ve changed the handbrake shoes, tightened up and then 4 notches back on the register. When I go and calibrate using the Foxwell NT530 I get calibration error. When you say pull the brake tubes, are these the ones in the trunk? If so are these the tubes that come in either side into the sliding mechanism of the EPB ECU? Just trying to guage which part of the tubes you push/pull? Thank you for your help.

Just to add, when I start calibration the ECU engages the handbrake and then when I’m asked to “turn ignition off” on the foxwell and confirm “ok” it throws the error. Code is C155A. If I apply handbrake or release handbrake via the Foxwell then it works.

You do realize the post is from 2021??
