Everyone:

All suggestions and comments are appreciated.

My 2011 GTS just got back from some major service a week ago at 47,000 miles which included:

Repair and Replace intake manifold
Replace intake gaskets
Rebuild Alternator
Replace value cover gaskets with spark plug grommets
Replace spark plugs
Clean throttle body
Replace coolant tube from engine oil cooler to passenger side front cylinder head
Replace coolant
Change oil and filter
Blow out air filter
Replace rear brakes rotors & pads

The car sounded and drives awesome!

Two days ago I started her up and she started weak? Not the strong growl!! Then it was MSR system failure light go see dealer, then ASR failure light go see dealer, and lastly the shock absorber failure light.....

I shut the car off, counted to 5 and restarted. ALL GONE. Drove car, car sounded and drove great!

Day two car started fine. After a trip to wawa started her up and got the three error messages again. Turned off then back on ALL GONE????

What the hell is going on? Is it a battery issue? Something related to the work I had done? Computer problem?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks! C

I am very far from an expert, but had that happen to me once a little over a year ago. I charged my battery fully and it's never occurred again. But, it is my daily driver as well driving lots of highway miles where the battery is always replenished adequately. So imho, I bet you have a weak battery at the moment. If it's the original, more than likely over due for replacement.

+1 on the battery. mine has done it for two other reasons, but only once you start moving (one due to a ripped speed sensor wire at the hub, the other a drastically out of alignment situation). if it goes away after restart, almost certainly battery.

Agreed, likely low voltage, battery or alternator. For reference, we don't recommend rebuilding the alternators on the Maserati. They seem to not last nearly long enough and often customers have had troubles with the replacements. Especially since these can be a difficult job depending on which model Maserati you have, we recommend using new parts. Good luck and if you need a quote on any of the parts, feel free to reach out as we have great pricing on genuine factory parts as well as alternatives.

Best Regards,

Well my Indy spent several hours over two days trying to get the error codes to come on. Driving the car and turning it on and off. Of course NO SUCH LUCK.

Then he load tested the battery which passed with flying colors (10.5 volts under heavy load).

Then he tested the alternator and AC voltage as well as the battery connections and fuses. Again, nothing at all. Everything tested as it should have and the car has no codes. She rides and sounds great.

Maybe its just me. lol The 3 error messages go on once for 5-10 seconds at start up, then go away and do not come back for another day?

Perhaps it could be the beginning of the ignition switch going bad?

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks. C

I don`t think that is from any work you had done or the ignition switch...Your shop may want to try to clean the connectors for ABS ECU and Skyhook ECU where they plug into the harness...You can drop voltage in a connector even though they look fine...Stuff like this is kinda difficult to fix so you need to be patient..You can suggest that to the shop, but I`m pretty sure they won`t like "I read it on the internet"...I hear it everyday and it gets old especially when 1/2 of the info. is incorrect. Just a suggestion at this point...regards..Jason

How old is the battery? Is it the original, which means it may be close to 6- 7 years old? I'd start there and if it is the original it's overdue for replacement imho. These cars, and most modern high end cars are tough on batteries, especially if not driven frequently.

These cars eat batteries! lol I put in a new one every 3 years or so. However I just put a brand new battery in her in June of 2015 and she passes all the battery testing. Thanks. C

Same happened to me. The battery was a little low. I have put it on a trickle charge. If it happens again off to the shop I go. They mentioned battery may need to be replaced.
