Steering wheel vibration at higher speed

I have a Quattroporte Sport GT 2007 with 65000 km on the clock. I only drive it during weekends in Cape Town and the car has never been in an accident or rough surface. Since October last year there have been vibrations in the steering wheel at speeds above 100km. This deteriorated over a period of time. All tyres where replaced, all rims where straightened and the propshaft was checked (and found to be ok). This helped a bit but the situation deteriorated again. Maserati convinced me to replace all rims with new ones at high expense - which I did - and whilst the situation has improved, I still feel vibrations through the steering wheel that I don't experience with other cars. Any further suggestions?

If you can bolt up some other wheels / tires that are known to be good and the problem goes away, it will help narrow it down because many of these types of problem will come from flat spotted tires, imbalanced tires / wheels, bent wheels, etc... bearings can come into play although they usually exhibit noise, alignment, worn bushings and other issues.

Best Regards,

Tire issues account for almost all steering wheel vibrations felt while driving and not braking...Obviously the wheels need to be straight and hub centric...Bent rims usually show up as a slow back and forth of the steering wheel when starting from a dead stop as you accelerate.. The best tires in a lot of techs. opinions are Michelin..They are simply the most round tire with the least vibration and consistent quality. Jason

My guess is tyre balance. It is very critical with these cars you have clearly gone to a lot of expense to solve this problem. Ok so it can't be your rims as they are new. It most likely isn't your new tyres if they are a quality tyre. Is vibration seat of pants or steering wheel?
Seat of pants rear wheels , steering wheel front wheels.
Take them to a different shop with a good reputation and re balance.
