I close in my rear view side mirrors when I put it in the garage. Today I opened them up and all was fine. Tonight I pulled into garage and the mirrors are not responding.

They will turn when i put gear into Reverse. But, they will not adjust when select mirror adjustments nor when i push the close/open rearview side mirrors.

It is just stuck. No noise. Nada.

I searched the forum boards and did not find this thread or type of issue.

Anyone else have this happen?

Tomorrow I can post a picture of which fuse is for the cigarette lighter, I replace it often because I had mine moved to put in a cupholder, and it wasn't well done and it comes loose and the fuse blows and then I have no radar detector. It's bottom-most white 25 one in the second-to-the-right box under the passenger floorboard.

My mirrors had stopped working and were stuck in 'reverse' position. In the meantime I needed a new battery in the car. When I replaced the battery, apparently it reset the system and the mirrors started working again. I would try using the battery cut off switch in the battery compartment, just turn it off for a moment and back on, and see if that resets them.

NaplesGirl, here is the fuse for the lighter on my 2003 Coupe GT, not sure if it's the same as yours or not. If not, yours is still probably a white 25 amp fuse.

Thats fuse 41.

But that shouldnt be a 25amp fuse.
That should only be 15amp Pale blue.
Having different amp fuse other than what is rated/recommended 'may' cause issues

Another fuse that goes intermittently is also 29.

Hm, you're right. Come to think of it, I may have put a 25a one instead of a 15a one in there since it was dark last time I changed it... but I haven't had any issues since then. The dude who moved my cigarette lighter under the passenger seat so I cut put a cupholder in where the ashtray assembly was did a poor job, and sometimes the lighter pulls loose from the prongs and that blows the fuse and then I have no radar detector since it's wired into that line, and I need my radar detector! But when the fuse blows the mirrors and radio still work, only the lighter socket and radar detector go out.

Its usually blows if the amperage is wrong.
I had higher amperage on fuse 29 that controls the light switch for the main headlights. It blew 4 times and like clockwork I would just change it.
I read the manual one day :autofahrer: and it said a different fuse rating. Since I changed it to the proper one no more issues. :)

Awesome---:Tombo:
Just printed this

Check for the fuse. I believe it is under the passenger side floor. First, jiggle the key in the ignition. I have had this problem where the key gets slightly loose while the car is running and prevents the mirrors from moving, the a/c from blowing and the cigarette lighter from working. My mechanic has seen this in other maseratis.
