I brought my MC20 for the second year service. Just want to give a heads up on the this service for an MC20. The cost at the dealership is $6430 here in PA! Be ready for that expense!
Diddy Orange Party,So Diddy put his Diddy where it didn't belong.... his new parties will be all orange jumpsuits.
Ferrari is just as bad if not worse depending upon the model!I have walked away from the brand..I have learned too much to travel into that wormhole again.
I'm glad I'm a do it your selfer! Those prices remind me of owning a go fast boat!I started checking with Maserati dealers about the pre-paid maintenance plans and this is the best price I have received thus far:
"The premium plan covers everything the owner's manual recommends at each interval, it's really great coverage!
For the 2 year plan it is $6,750
For the 3 year plan it is $8,900
For the 4 year plan it is $12,250
Again, the plan covers ALL maserati recommeneded services."
Thoughts?
I’d be wary of doing scheduled maintenance on a new mas, they would probably use that to get out of any warranties!I'm glad I'm a do it your selfer! Those prices remind me of owning a go fast boat!
I was the classic "Great Expectations" when I got out of school. I realized very quickly I wouldn't be happy with a desk type job as I liked the outdoors and physical work. Perhaps it was because I worked my tail off for things I wanted by cutting grass, doing lawn work etc. That's one thing I give my father credit for is instilling a strong work ethic and making me work for what I wanted. Well, I spent around the 1st 10 years of my working life in the logging business! I haven't worked for anyone since I was in my early 20's. I didn't let anyone put a wrench on any thing I owned until I spun off my trucking from logging and started driving over the road for awhile. I still enjoy turning wrenches and finally just bought a quick jack. Hope I don't regret not going ahead and buying a lift.I am just the opposite - I pay for anything that might get my hands dirty!
Looks like the three-year plan saves between $1,000 and $2,000. So one factor would be do you plan to keep the car for more than three years?I started checking with Maserati dealers about the pre-paid maintenance plans and this is the best price I have received thus far:

Indeed. I got a price of $10,268.25 for the 3 year plan from another dealer...shopping around for sure. The prices for prepaid maintenance are very negotiable, protect against inflation, dealer corruption and, I believe, not taxed.
Shouldn't be an issue. I just bought a new 2023 with 135 delivery miles and I'm not worried about it.With so many brand new leftover 2023's with 100-300mi on the odometer on dealer lots, should a prospective buyer ask for a 1-year service to be performed? The 4yr warranty wouldnt start until purchase date, but wondering if the car sitting for the past 1.5years has any impact on maintenance
when asked, most of the dealers state the 100-300mi came from dealer GSM or CEO driving it.
good feedback, thanksShouldn't be an issue. I just bought a new 2023 with 135 delivery miles and I'm not worried about it.
Oil sitting in an engine doesn't age anymore than oil sitting in a bottle. Sure, there is a 1 year guideline for changing oil despite mileage, but that oil is in a used engine that presumably has been run from time to time over that year. Pollutants can accumulate in the oil over that time in that scenario, but I think risk in a brand new engine is slim. Perhaps I will grab an oil sample after the break in period and verify, but I fully expect that sample to come back perfect.
Spark plugs are the other 1 year service item to note. Sparks plugs wear based on use, so not the case here. Other reasons to change based on time is so that the plug does not get stuck in the engine and become hard or impossible to remove. Porsche recommends a 4 year service interval for this reason. Generally that happens when components are heated up and cooled down during periodic drives. Plugs sitting in an used engine should not pose a risk and should perform as well as plugs sitting in a box on the shelf.
The cabin filter is also a 1 year service item, and that one we can visually see. Mine was a bit dirtier than I'd expect for 135 miles, but not needing to be replaced.
Certainly cheap insurance, and easy to do. Just wait until after the break in period of 500 miles, that way you are also flushing any debris caused by the initial break in miles.good feedback, thanks
the MC20 I am purchasing is a 2023 with 300 miles, presumably from test drives and GSM driving it. Might be worth to change the oil, at least
That would be covered under the PDA ... there's no point wasting a 1st year service on that, but with the PDA, the dealership has to do a ful inspect, and top up/replace fluids, as required.good feedback, thanks
