Continental Extreme Contact Sport (ECS) is an OUTSTANDING new entry in this top tier. I have them on my Miata and the grip ias track worthy. They were so impressive I put a set of these on my Evora S. It is also glued to the road now and has passed the torrential downpour test while cornering quite aggressively. I was really trying to provoke them but the levels I was at were exiting the "wise on a public road" mode. Quiet and also ride VERY well -better than PZeros, I think. PZero Corsas or Sumi HTRZIII's I have experienced. Every bit as good as the PSS's I have experienced on student's Evoras. Rain is their strength and the word on the street is that wet grip lasts longer than the Michelin's (always the achilles heel of the brand IMHO). Many sizes available and these will be the tires I go for when the time comes unless I just need rears and stay with the PZeros which are fabulous street tires but greasey for track (thus reason the Corsas exist) My instincts tell me the Maserati specced tire may have extra stiff sidewalls due to the vehicle weight Keep that in mind.

Town Fair Tire today
Pilot 4S = $330.30 & $383.40

Sullivan Tire today
Pirelli P-Zero = $291.00 & $339.00

I still want the Michelin after reading everyone's comments

My 2016 new Sport with 11,500 miles (zero burnouts)
BOTH front inners worn down - but center has plenty of meat
Rear Passenger is bald
Read Driver is almost bald

DSGT - So I have moved off of the Pirelli tire loyalty.
Now I am looking a Michelin.
Which one? I DON'T drive in the winter. AVOID the RAIN. And sometimes I have it in the late fall out and about. But daily driver from April 1 to Nov 25th - 5,500 miles each stretch of season - what do you recommend.

And YES I will head over to the alignment forum to down load the alignment adjustments......
"AVOID the RAIN"
Maaan, I pulled off the lot during a heavy downpour and spent 3 out of 4 hours driving the GT home in the rain!!! With the weight of this car, this thing is great in the rain! It even has windshield wipers, too boot... :nerd:
(i'm just yanking on ya )

Michelin PS4S, no question. Generally regarded as the best 'regular' performance tyre available for wet and dry (see reviews online and on YouTube). Just put them on my GTS a week ago (haven't driven it hard enough to notice any difference).

My MPSS's with 8,045 miles on them, and the rears look just as new.... These tires have been my favorite 'go to's' for quite a while. They have served me very well

I'll be the lone dissenter. Can't comment on the PS4s, but I couldn't wait to get the Super Sports off my 2013 GranTurismo. They were great on smooth roads, but had an awful habit of tracking "tar snakes" - the common repair for winter damage in our part of the woods. This made them simply unbearable on our rural back roads, where I spend a good deal of driving time. Neither the PZeros nor the Falken Azenas had this issue. I don't think it was a bad set either as I replaced the fronts with another pair and the issue was still there...

I have always been a Michelin Man (Not in shape I hasten to add!!). My 2017 QP on 12500 miles has original Pirellis fitted and one of the front tyres has uneven wear due to incorrect alignment prior to my ownership. I assume I cannot just swap one tyre for a Michelin but do I need to swap the rears as well. Advice please.

Just a word of caution from personal experience with a couple of "ultra-sticky" tires, but used on different cars ( Porsches ) so I may be comparing apples to oranges : The Dunlop Direzza Star Sport Z1 ( how’ that for an endless name ?! ) and the Vredestein Ultrec ( bought those because of their unique tread design but they had good reviews and ratings as well ) Both , but especially the Dunlops , stuck to the asphalt like racing slicks on melting cement, but I returned both of them within a week of purchase because the noise they made was unbearable ; even at 35 -40 mph they were extremely loud, but at highway 70 mph + speeds the howling would dwarf the noise of a F15 fighter jet taking off next to you.
I don't know if that translates to any other super sticky brands, but one thing is certain: every Michelin tire I've had on any car ( we have those on all of our current cars - SUV, sedans, sports cars, Maserati.. ), are as quiet as a tire can get, practically silent, and they stay that way even when they're all the way down to the wear bars. So in addition to all the other top notch attributes Michelin has, the silent running for me is a huge bonus. Tire Rack will show the quietness factor rating of any tires you choose to compare on their site, so don't overlook that factor....if you're interested in that particular element, that is..

Oh, here we go ..found an image of the Vredesteins I am talking about .

A strength of the PZero is ride quality, quietness. Wear is obviously the weakness. To be fair, the technology is over a decade old. The newer PZ4's are a nice improvement. I have them on my Stelvio with a quad wheel/tire package. They still wear fast from what I hear. I'd rather have a quick wearing tire that is good down to 4/32nds or 2-3 years v a tire that lasts twice as long but is lousy for the second half of its life or years 4-7. Hockey pucks are whayt I call most of those 60K tires. Great for a salesman knocking out 30K /yr but lousy for your average 10K/yr person because they end up being OLD.
That Vredstein has no channels opening to outer edge to complete the evacuation of water. I bet it howls like an offroad tire!

I had a 2011 Granturismo Sport with 25k miles from 2014 until 2017, had to sell it due to poor business decisions. I was 21 when I bought it so probably shouldn't have had one to begin with but they're the most beautiful cars in the world. I for some reason stuck with PZeros for awhile and lived in both Dallas and St. Louis. I'm not a crazy driver and went thru a set of tires every year with only 5k miles driven on it. Pzeros are by far the biggest waste of money you'll ever spend. I finally ditched them in 2017 before selling to Michelin Super Sports and the difference was massive. Same tiny potholes that would cause a flat in Pzeros did absolutely nothing to the Michelins.

Flash forward to 2020, things have changed, so was looking to buy another Granturismo... I'm on the line and go to Carvana for sh*ts and giggles. They listed a 2013 Maserati Granturismo MC Sportline with 15k miles as a standard Sport... No mention of MC in description in pictures, but I ran the VIN :D. Snagged it for 2K under KBB trade in value at $40,000... Car had Pzeros on it... 250 miles in and there's a bubble on my side wall. Going to Discount Tires today to swap them all out for Michelin tires and selling the 3 "good" but complete crap Pzeros online. Save yourself the hassle and spend the extra $ on good tires.

I am getting new front tires installed on Friday. Tirerack has the Michelin Super Sports in 245/35ZR20 for $224 on special right now.
This is a great deal if you need a new set. Check the inside part of your front tread as that is the most likely part to wear.

Good info, thanks... This will save me a few bucks as my usual tire spot price matches 👍
only have about 1k miles on my front set right now but i'm still gonna scoop up this deal

I would pick the Michelins too; but unfortunately, my P Zero fronts were perfectly fine and my rears were toast. Didn't want to mix and match so had to put P Zeros back on. At least they had 24K miles on them.
You would have been ok to put the Michelin's on the rear, just keep the same tires on the same axle.

Good thing you didn't wait b/c I was looking at this exact car on Carvana and I too noticed they priced it all wrong not realizing it was a MC lol! Good buy for sure!

If you hadn't of bought it, I would have... I'm test driving a different '15 MC tomorrow
