Contemplating about ordering either a MC20 or the new upcoming C8 Z06 next year.

Each car has its pros and cons.

The new Z06 might be a bit faster than the MC20. The Z06 also has a much better interior than the MC20 with better tech and features,

Also, the exhaust note is hands down better in the Z06 than the MC20. No V6, no matter how sophisticated, will win the sound battle against a naturally-aspirated, flat plane V8!

(Who would've ever thought a Maserati would lose to a Corvette in a sound battle?!.....Lol).

One other big advantage is that the Z06 also comes as a convertible. The MC20 only comes as a couple (so far).

The exterior styling is subjective, but I'll give the win to the MC20 because it's more unique and has the flashy "lambo-styled" dooors.

And as far as pricing, most likely the Z06 will command a huge markup when released, but even still, it'll come thousands under a similarly-equipped MC20.

Decisions....Decisions.....

OMG, what a bunch of Maserati homers.... :giggle: The Corvette already comes with a sorted out chassis and a heavyweight manufacture in GM behind it..I have watched all the videos on its release and the Z06 is a bad mofo...The MC20 is some kind of Lotus or Alfa C4 type of thing...I agree with PSB as the sticker price and the actual price are going to be two different things right now...Stupid markup on these things right now I bet...Never buy a new model from a small manufacture unless you like doing R&D for them ...Just saying...Jason

Z06 is a bad bitch, of course! But I wouldn't pick it over a Maser no more than I would pick a 1500 HP Supra over a Lambo...lol

Oh geez, Lamborghini gets passed around from manufacture to manufacture more than a hooker in Vegas..They just make these crazy looking cars in crazy colors and celebrities buy them...Their automotive accomplishments are nothing..A Ferrari want to be... :) Jason

But in the end it is still only a corvette -
The very unique MC 20 is my vote
LOL
the first mid engine vette and exotic looking to match. it's a whole new ballgame with that vette. Sounds a bit like the fellas who say Maserati is just rebadged Chrysler.
There is a reason these new current C8’s Vettes are selling 30k over sticker
The Z06 will be selling 50k over msrp more than likely.

ditto^^^ new Z06 mid engine is a game changer in the industry. Redline 8600 is crazy. Neighbor has a C8 and it’s absolutely stunning inside and out. GM did an incredible job with this generation. PROPS! First time I’ve seen mostly young guys driving a vette and I see many exotic owners driving them now.

People seem to love it, which is fantastic! 👍🏽 It just looks so busy to me, lots of angles, when you look at this car...the same reason I'm luke warm about the new Lambo stuff. Just my 2 cents worth.

I actually don't love the way the car looks myself or the stupid strip of switches in the interior...The car is basically a 458 Italia knock off...I have watched videos of the chassis and some of the stuff is almost identical...That being said you can hardly get a used 458 for the price I suspect the Z06 will list for...That is a 458 that is older, prone to DCT issues, and sticky buttons etc, with no warranty...The beauty of the Z06 is the overall value of the car IMO...Jason

Yeah it's definitely great bang for the buck, especially considering the fact that it's running with the big boys. I was joking the other day that the C8 design team must have flown to Italy and broken into Ferrari in the middle of the night. :p

I’m sorry but I highly doubt the interior quality on the ‘vette will be better. I know guys that have C8’s and that it their biggest complaint by far. Cheap interior.
Personally though, there are very few cars I would take a vette over. They aren’t anything special. Ya it’s a Z06 but all anyone is gonna think is ‘oh look, another old wanna be in his old age/midlife crisis car that he stuck a bunch of aero bits on’. The corvette is too common to be anything special. Yes it’s a crazy performing machine but are you really gonna race it?
If I was choosing, I put a deposit on an MC20 roadster(or whatever they’re gonna call the topless version) and have something special!!

Smugness has entered the thread:
I’ve heard numerous people say the same about the Maserati
Oh look it’s another guy driving a car with leftover parts from the Ferrari bin or it’s a rebadged Chrysler.
I’m in my early 40s and will have a Z06 on order(never owned a vette prior)…. and
Have owned GT MC vert and wife currently has a Levante S. We enjoy our cars for what they are not a badge on the outside. It’s actually quite comical, the banter that goes on in hiline car forums about other brands or competitors.
With the above being said I think the MC 20 looks absolutely gorgeous from the pics I’ve seen at all angles.

Miles&Miles, I’m not meaning to be smug. Just stating what I’ve had friends say about their C8’s. We all like what we like, and I hope you’ll share pics and experiences once your Z06 lands!

QP5, 993, and CR owner here. Badge conscious, to some extent, but hardly blind to good products from any manufacturer. I've not driven the C8, and certainly not the Z06 version. It's the C8 origami design, particularly the rear quarter of the car that, aesthetically, is a turnoff for me. Same with the P-car 996. From all other accounts of how the car drives that I have read, it's a winner, particularly the Z06.

I absolutely agree with Jason on this topic. Currently I own a 2013 GTS. I have also owned in my life a total of 26 Corvettes. Ranging from C1 to C7. Beginning in the model year 2005, this iconic US brand has changed. Yes there have been some years when their look, performance and dependability have been horrible. But the tide has changed probably (I hope) forever. The current ZO6 and ZR-I C7 generation was so special, then came the C8. Everything has changed. This new Gen ZO6 will consistently out perform most any so called supercars from Europe. I own a C7 ZR-1 and when I bought it after all of those other Corvettes, I thought it couldn't be beat in price, dependability and performance. THIS C8 Z0-6 is head and shoulders above the C7 ZR-1. And just wait until the C8 ZR-1 arrives. New sheriff in town when it comes to supercars, which I am sad to say, Maserati has no entry in this market. I love driving and pampering my GTS, but there really is no comparison.

Maserati was never in this fight. It's a GT car, and that is where it shines. Supercar, Hypercar...those have nothing to do with us!

What cracks me up is the enormous amount of similarities the C8 has with the 458 platform. Yet Chevrolet acts like it has invented the wheel!
