So, I recently stopped driving my GranTurismo as much to focus on some other projects I have going on, and in that process I decided to put a battery tender / trickle charger on my car. I had been planing to do this since I owned the car but never really got around to it.

My car didn't have the factory port for the Maserati branded trickle charger installed (yes i know there is a 12v socket in the trunk) and I had a battery tender in the box laying around that was supposed to be used for another car, so i opted to use/install it on the Maserati.

This video is for those of you out there that DON'T have the factory cTek charger and charging port, and have no charger at all and are starting from scratch.

Have a look at this quick 5-7 minute video showing why you really want one, the benefits, and how to install it.

Yep, but i had the battery tender laying around from another car and i didnt have the cTek maserati branded charger. The battery tender was only $43 vs the $100-$200 Maserati branded charger and the $15 adapter. Also, 2 bolts is nothing for a permanent installation of a charging pigtail. No cutting, no drilling and adding a port to the trunk liner, no buying special adapters, all of it was included with the battery tender for less than $45 out the door.

To each their own though, if someone wants the maserati branded cTek charger, by all means go ahead and go for it! I just wanted to install something i had laying around for another car but never got around to putting it on, so it ended up on my Maserati. Video is really only helpful to those that ended up like me where they didnt have the OEM cTek charging port pre-installed on their car, or or didnt have any charger at all and are starting from scratch/zero on the topic.

From what i understand the Maserati branded charger is simply a cTek charger with a maserati sticker on it more or less and the markup on price. I'dont have either so i'm sure someone can chime in here and correct my statement if its wrong.
