You can use whatevever rear view camera you want (I chose the Alpine ). You will then need the adapter that allows video input into the factory screen. The biggest part of the job is getting to the back of the factory screen to plug in the module.

Thanks for posting - that is very slick. Can you give any more specifics on what camera and module you used? How challenging is the install for a professional? This is really the ONLY thing I wish my GTS had that it doesn't (except a satellite radio that doesn't work yet).

Gen 2 AuCar 9” Screen $1250 via Robin Elliot group buy. Comes with Backup camera and also
installed. Runs with wireless Android or Apple iPhone. Runs internally downloaded apps .

 

The system runs about $1600 installed. Any shop familiar with Maserati should be able to do the installation. I can sell the module, camera, or both.

Off topic a bit but id love to have the escort 9500ci display mounted inside the stock rear-view mirror of a 2012 GT-MC Currently using a non-auto dimming rear view mirror with the display mounted inside. Please pm me the info on the camera and mirror if you would be so kind. We talked about the mirror few months back but I cant seem to track down that post....I never realized how much I used the rear-view camera until I purchased a car with one installed. How is the resolution using the stock head unit?

Monty ,definitely is the best place to buy the module and the camera , I did 2009 GTS this week I installed front and rear camera Kenwood , CMOS310 . it`s `a challenge to du it,, but very good result , I like it . Food for thought: Some of the GTR guys would add front cameras as well for parking in order to avoid hitting curbs, etc. The GTR already came with a back up camera.

 

No,, kenwood does`t make the module only the cameras ,you can use any camera you wish, but if you wish to install front and rear kenwood have that set up, and also have the distance lines. The module is made specific for Maserati BY MAS. The receiver is OEM nothing gets changed . Aldo

 

I see Alpine has a unit HCE-C115 that has the camera and module that plugs into the composite video of the car's screen. Anyone used that unit?

 

The , Maserati,;;Marelli video screen ,has no input for any video; There for can not be used

 

That's what I thought. I spoke to my installer who said there was no video input. I have a 2011 GTS. I would love to have the camera. Are we absolutely sure it will work?
