That sounds like a immobilizer issue..You should have a code in your ECM if it is..I want to say P1562 off the top of my head...Jason

 

Yeah, CODE light would indicate that something's amiss. Might be worth opening the key and making sure the RFID chip is there

That would be the first time I've ever heard of that. Especially odd since the 4200 NIT has no connection to the immobiliser and the GS (which is basically a 4200 improved) has a standard (Becker as OEM) radio

I’ve seen it on the granturismo so figured they would’ve continued with the lineage of design being the 4200 had similar issues with radio codes but I guess not

 

Swapping the NIT on a GT may cause all sorts of issues but CODE shouldn't be one of them, unless it was changed with the updated infotainment, about which I have no idea.

Well Gentleman, I open the key fob up and out came black pepper chunks. No RFID chip. I have a parts car. can I swap the key, ignition cylinder and immobilizer or do I need to swap ECU as well?

 

Quite the ordeal I would consult an absolute expert

 

The ECU will need to be swapped as well...It is linked to the immobilizer..Jason

 

@02.4200.gt Did I ask your opinion on what you'd do? this site is for networking. if this post helps people diag their car without having to spend a ton of money, why not? So go troll somewhere else, BTW the car started today thanks to @Jason@ Enzo`s Atlanta tip about the ECU.

So to fix my starting issue I will need a new key, I've never saw a RFID chip turn into saw dust. You can do a override if you have the CODE card. I didn't have one and was able to call a dealer and order one(you just need proof of ownership).
