So you change your factory set camber to get a better tire wear?

Curious if most do this as I continue to see a lot of other cars have significant wear on the inner tire. Or do you just leave it like it is and buy tires more often?

Can I just take it to masi and tell them to adjust the alignment to where the tires wear evenly?
There are about a million threads on this and no one seems exact

Just take it to alignment shop and use all the factor specs, but the toe...Set the toe at .06 (+) per side....Jason

No, just the front...The back tires generally wear pretty even with the factory settings, but they do wear fast! lol...J

i buy Michelin tires on sale from Costco instead of paying the stupid price for the Pirelli's from the dealer- a full set costs about the same as one tire from the dealer

Agreed! They are almost always waaaaay more expensive than any tire shop! Only once have I ever got tires cheaper at a dealer than somewhere else, and that was for my wife's Toyota 4Runner.

To save inside wear you can change the toe setting or an alternative would be to dismount the fronts and swap them. Not a lot of discussion on what changing the toe-in does to handling. Maybe the amount recommended has a minimal change in handling, in that case it would be interesting to know before making the change.

It has been discussed before...Generally, by people that have never used an alignment rack....I'm not gonna go through all the math as it involves the tire diameter etc, but you can convert the degrees to inches...Then you'll see we are splinting hairs here...It is just a turn or so on the tie-rods on a car with rubber control arm bushings mounted on a sub-frame supported by rubber bushings...I raced cars and we were never like damn we need to get that car back to the pits and adjust that toe....Camber was a much bigger issue....J

No, not at all..A person is not driving a car like that on a public road or at least I hope not....Over and under steer comes when you reach the limits of traction...You are not doing that going to the local Kroger or pub I suspect...Pretty much every production car is made to understeer except very high performance cars ..It is the safest route for the manufacture...J

Maybe I wasn’t clear, will setting the toe at .06 (+) per side change the handling or feel of a street driven GT?

I was pretty much referring to driving a car to it's limits. No, not in opinion...The car is gonna drive exactly the same under most normal circumstances on the street... Jason
