Tpms weird stuff

Hey all

Finally fixing the last issue with my car here. I have done lots of searching and reading but found no fix for this.

I have a P0A04- Can error not settable due to under/over voltage

I can clear the code and have the TPMS system calibrate and show my tire pressures, I can program the TPMS module. But always the next day I wake up to this error.

I have already re seated the connector, all my sensors are new and my TPMS antennas pass the scan tool self check. I can read all my tire pressures and temps consistently with no weird or wrong values.

This one has me so stumped I have to ask if anyone has had this problem and if it means a new module. Thanks in advance

I will double check and reseat the plug and clean it one more time.

I also keep setting a P0100- ecu error no info available. Sounds like a new module.

Odd that it only sets the codes with the car sitting overnight and consistently talks to my scanner and shows all info properly always.

Just today had the tire place install a TPMS I ordered from Amazon for $22.00USD - Worked PERFECT...drove out onto highway 60 MPH, pressed "calibrate" button, turned GREEN (from yellow) and in about 3 seconds was GONE....Awesome....

NOTE: The TPMS that the tire dealer installed 1 month ago worked on THEIR sensor, but NOT on my GT dashboard....this sensor I bought and supplies DIDN'T work on their sensor but worked once install....crazy!

That is odd. One thing I did rule out is making sure my old sensors were not anywhere near the car.

The new sensors I used were Autel ones and of course I wrote the new ids to the car with my scan tool. In my case I really don't think it's a communication issue with my sensors. I think it's an internal computer problem, or maybe an antenna wiring problem.

I'll have a better check at my wiring, voltages etc. Then I might write my old sensor ids to the car and put them in the car near the antennas to see if I can calibrate it and get the same code or not.

Thought it was the car's last issue until I noticed the temp is always very low and finally set a thermostat temp code. Ahh Italian cars haha.

Under/over voltage codes are ECU related...Not sensor a sensor issue..You may have an issue obtaining a new unit BTW...It is kinda goofy deal going on these days...I never use aftermarket sensors for the record...Hard enough to get the stuff to work on these cars as it is without bringing in another variable...Jason

I get the TPMS light issue when my car sits without trickle charger connected. I have to use a scan tool to reset the codes then perform calibration. When I drive my car regularily or use the charger, I dont have this issue. My thought is it has to do with your charging system, maybe a parasitic drain on your battery?

I thought about that too. Come to think of it I should try leave mine sitting with a charger and see if I get the error again.

If not that, then probably the voltage regulator or a capacitor in the TPMS module is done. I've done some electrical rework on small circuit boards. Could be interesting if I find a bad component and I can start rebuilding the modules
