Hi

I change the brake fluid on my 4200 CC using a power bleeder applying 10psi pressure.
Now the ABS warning light stay on on my 4200 CC.
No error code on the ECU with x431 reader. Brake fluid level sensor seems ok: there’s continuity when the tank is full and no continuity when it’s empty. I guess it’s the right behavior for that sensor.
When I drive the car, intermittently the MSP and skyhook warning lights turn on as well few seconds and then I can read the code C1401 “Speed Signal” on the skyhook ecu.
Any idea?

thank you!

Just tested the brake pad wear sensor. There’s no continuity between the wires connected to the pad. Is it normal? I’m not sure if I should have continuity when the pad is used or in normal condition?

So you have a fault in the skyhook ECU, but not in the ABS yet the light is on?..The brake pad wear sensor doesn't affect the ABS system...Jason

Thank you Jason. Yes, no fault in ABS ecu with light permanently on and a fault in the skyhook ECU with light intermittently on. In the instructions manual, ABS light can be on due to low brake fluid level or brake pad used. Should I have continuity between the wires coming from the pad?

Low brake fluid or brake pads being worn makes the brake light come on normally not the ABS but these old cars could be goofy..The bad wear sensor works by providing a path to ground as the wire then touches the brake disc...You should have continuity and check to make sure it isn't grounded.. You can normally just unplug them as most aftermarket pads don't have sensors...Jason

Just checked. No wire damage visually. Breaks pad wear sensor disconnected as well. How am I supposed to re-init the brake warning light?
By the way, I’m surprised to have intermittently the MSP and skyhook warning light on when driving.

All that is tied together..The MSP is traction control coming from the ABS module..The skyhook uses the ABS speed signal...All this happened after a brake fluid flush?

Yes that what is incredible! Just connected the power bleeder. Between 10 and 15 psi and purge all the calipers. I even didn’t remove the wheels because the car was lifted and everything is accessible.

I'm at the house currently so I don't have any information for the most part...Contact Launch and get a definition from them for a C1401...It is showing as a valve fault in the ABS controller, but that is generic so maybe not that accurate...Jason

Waiting for Launch reply for the C1401 error code.
In the mean time, I drove several km today and no more error code in skyhook system. But still the brake warning light on.
Do you know if the brake system wiring diagram is available?
Thanks. Xavier

Good deal...That entire thing didn't make sense...I might have told you wrong on the pad sensor BTW...They normally ground the circuit to turn on the light...Not complete the circuit to put the light out...My bad there...Those older cars can be kinda goofy...Jason
