I recently picked up a 2014 Gran Turismo Sport in white - I absolutely love it.

However, the digital aspects of this car are pretty poor. Two things in particular that I'd like to address

1. No backup camera
2. No bluetooth streaming (just phone call support)

What options would folks here recommend to fix this? I'm thinking of replacing the stock system with a double DIN (with carplay/android auto) but wanted to get opinions from experts here before moving forward.

Thanks!

Back-up cameras ?! Surely, those are not needed in a GT, as we must remember the first rule of Italian driving depicted in this classic movie clip :

Sorry, could not resist ..

Yeah, the electronics / multi-media in this car are not very advanced but I recall some threads / posts here describing more sophisticated after market systems , so before someone responds with a specific suggestion , you might want run a from search using either " multi-media " as a key word and see what comes up ..

I don't use Bluetooth streaming on my GT so others here may chime in on this, however, for a back-up camera, I use the Pearl Rear Vision system which uses a special license plate frame equipped with small cameras. The system is totally wireless and uses your smartphone to display the rear view. It works great, but best of all, it's only $400 and can be easily transferred from car-to-car.

That's going to be Raoul Julia, isn't it? :D

Indeed, that is him. " The Gumball Rally" ( the first one, 1976 release date ) - classic , tons of fun movie which. IMO, should be seen by allcar aficionados.

P.s., back on the main topic , that license plate wireless camera set up sounds like a great gadget !

The Pearl Rear vision system looks great but i just came across this article. Seems the company has gone out of business. You might get a good price now but support will be non existent. too bad, it looked like a great product

Apple-connected Pearl Automation shuts down after low sales of rear-view camera
Looks like Pearl was bought by American Road Products in June and is still in business. I have one - don't use on the GT though. It is a decent product and works well if you park where it can get charged with its built-in solar cell and if you like to mount your phone on the dash to view the camera. They recently added guidelines and the ability to turn on while driving forward which made it better. Good option to consider if you don't want anything permanently installed in the vehicle.

What I really need/want for my GT is a front camera. I worry about the long low nose hitting parking stops and curbs - especially when my wife or sons are driving it. I will probably get a system installed with front/rear cameras soon.

My dealer installed a backup camera system before I took delivery of my new GT last June. Uses the regular screen and works flawlessly. Very clear and crisp picture. Feels like a factory backup camera. I have no idea where the camera or interface came from to work with the GT standard screen.

I spoke to a custom A/V installer yesterday about installing cameras front and back, and he was quick to point out the availability of the cameras for the Maserati GT, front and back. Further, he pointed out that the front camera could display when the parking sensors activated. However, he said the prices he saw for the the front and rear video interfaces were several hundred dollars. I read on another thread here that the video interface units were supposedly exactly the same, with one costing approximately $900 and another for $400. Can someone confirm this, as well as provide a web site to order these? Also for the cameras themselves, any recommendations on which ones to buy, and placement on the front and back?

i don't recommend replacing the actual radio/screen. it is heavily tied into the instrument panel and body computer.

i had a 139 QP in recently, all kinds of electrical issues. dash lit up like a christmas tree. after market double din radio. nothing to do about it, from a dealership standpoint.

that said, i've had a few GTs with cameras installed and they work great. the front especially, for saving the lip from parking blocks and curb parking.

I do not plan to replace the head unit. I'm looking for consensus on the A/V interface to use for front and rear cameras, as well as recommended cameras.

I had a front camera and rear back up camera installed recently in my 2014 Maserati GranTurismo by Custom Installations & Design aka Sportline Accessories, who are located in Schaumburg, IL for around $1600 plus taxes. Mike the owner & Chuck Richards the installer did a fabulous job--I would use them again. Now I can park my GT without fear of hitting a curb, parking lot concrete bumper, another car or a kid! I do not recall who Mike and Chuck said manufactured the equipment but I'm sure they told me the equipment was FCA OEM.

[bluetooth audio streaming]
[14 gran turismo sport]

I've had my car a few days, and trying to figure out the same thing, lol. At the moment I'm using a spare iPhone with a belkin 3.5 to lighting plug cable (from Best Buy) . I spotted the 3.5 aux input in the glovebox so thought I'd try that for quick access to my music. I'm satisfied at the moment, just playing different play list I have in Spotify. It's not cool though, lol.

For front and rear camera I had two modules installed from “nav TV”.

The cameras work via the stock OEM screen and there are zero interior changes. The cameras are triggered by going into reverse for the back up cam, and by the front parking sensor coming on for the front cam.

Total with labor and tax was $2500 by a high end shop in Scottsdale.

If you are okay with a small interior switch for the front camera, then the total cost goes down to $2000 (because it eliminates one of the Integration modules).

BOVEE works great
i need a wireless backup camera now
i don't want to cut any wires
anything new that will display in the head unit screen?
