So my cars been clicking from the left rear when chasing from positive to negotiable drivetrain load and it would go away when flicking the parking brake once in While. When it started up but now it's lol the time.

Upon inspecting it right now everything looks good and pulling on the cable im pointing to in the pic everything functions as it should and smoothly. However! There is much extra slack even at the current resting position that I physically have to place/push the metal end of the cable into its spherical housing at the knuckle. Clearly here is too much slack and I can't find an adjustment at the back half of the car. I imagine the noise is from all this extra loose play in the parking brake. It barely holds the car anyways so it's obvious it needs the play removed.

Please advise

There is no adjustment on the E-brake cables...It is possible that the EBP actuator has gotten out of whack..You may need a service center to put the actuator in service mode, adjust the shoes, and then do a calibration....J

I saw the screw nut adjuster on the bottom but it only aligns them, which will certainly improve its holding power but still need to remove all the slack. Whats the computer tool to do this then? No dealer within hours and wouldn't go anyways
thanks

*re reading my first post my iPhone makes me sound like i barely speak english haha.

The star adjuster at the bottom gets the shoes out were they should be...Near the inner part of the drum...This is how you account for wear of the shoes.. The scan tool puts the EBP is a base position so you can adjust the shoes with the star adjuster...The shoes should drag a slight amount on the drum..Then a calibration is done where the EBP learns the end points...No scan tool= no calibration....sorry...Jason

I tried to adjust my EPB a while back as well and figured out the same problem. Apparently theses cablesystems just have a crap ton of slack in them. I have a LEO tool and would get into service mode, adjusted the shoe adjuster up as much as I could with out dragging a bunch, re-calibrate the actuator, and get some stupid Italian error code. But basically the actuator's on these don't have more than 2" or so of travel, and I was out of range, thus "can not complete calibration", or some such Italian BS message on the LEO

. Jason helped me out trying to work out the problem the correct way, and I gave up and made a brass bushing to take up the extra cable slack in the system, re-calibrated the EPB and now it works. As Jason told me, the EPB in these cars is NOT very good even when they are working correctly. So be aware of that.

My first GTS epb would hold the car up a wall! here in PA I often have to park the car on hills and this brake doesn't hold very well but that is not my main issue. Issue is some sort of clicking noise coming from this area when driving and changing loading on that end as in decal back to acel loading. It's been doing it a while and the trip back up front FL it hasn't gotten worse but it's oh so annoying. Everything else is tight. No balljoint or end or bushing play, no broken spring or wiggle in anything. It sound like a tinny but lould click from the parking brake

Does the spacer your talking go around the end of the cable housing that goes between it and the cast knuckle in which it slides? That 25mm ish thing I'm point to in the pic? I could easily make a necked soccer that fits in the body and upsizes to allow the cable side to fit inside

I made my bushing to position where the cable comes into the actuator. However it would not possible to get the cable in the correct position with out the scan tool to set the actuator into service position . You can use the manual release tool to back off the actuator, but after you manually release the brake I believe you have to re-calibrate it. So again, you need a scan tool.
