AC Blower motors about to go? HELP

so my 2010 GTS ac has started acting out.

Basically, when you start the car it wont blow air, nothing... the AC unit works and you can use it but nothing will come out of the air vents. Also, the "snow flake" button wont turn on at all...

Then after 30 to 45 minutes of driving around everything starts to work normally.

My mechanic says that the AC blower motor is going bad. He claims this is a very common issue with GTs.

Has anybody had this problem?

Any ideas on where to buy it? does anybody has the part number?

I am calling my Maserati dealer tomorrow to find out how much is it... it should be around $575 or so for the part.

Had it on a 4200 and was indeed the blower. The actual issue was the resistor/pcb in the blower that is often replaceable or a separate removable item on the blower on other cars. On the 4200 it is dashboard out!

Painful and expensive fix for a simple/cheap part. Works fine now.

Hopefully on the GT it isn't dashboard out.

Not to be Debbie Downer, but would you get a used one? You have a used one and it`s going bad..When they do go bad they usually draw too much current and melt the connector...Jason

I get a burning smell occasionally when I turn on the AC. It shoots hot air periodically and then goes back to working fine for a while.

I don't know much about cars so does it seem reasonable that this is a bad ac blower motor that needs to be replaced or something else? I'm assuming its not Freon as it will go back to normal after the periodic problem.

Yes got the same issue new blower and ECU he's right
