Of course I'm going to live with the miles, what are you guys suggesting I was trying to do?! Chill out.
We weren't suggesting anything. Just responding to this comment...

Any experience or knowledge on this? I get my cars serviced regularly but I don't want to be staring down a six digit odometer 10 years from now if I can avoid it!

Nobodys cheating anybody. I bought a used gransport with questionable tire wear for the mileage it had. Just wanted to know if anybody heard about this, again, I had heard from my friends who have ferraris, that some ferrari techs he knew about had "rolled" it back or "reset" it, and thats why there are so many ferraris with low milage out there. Of course I'm going to live with the miles, what are you guys suggesting I was trying to do?! Chill out.
What? Didn't you just say you wanted to do it so you don't have to stare at a 6 digit odometer 10 years from now. We were suggesting exactly what you said!

What would be more interesting would be to find out is what was done to keep these out there with that kind of high miles!? With all the talk of clutchs and pumps, etc.- what was done to keep these going?
Maseratis aren't any different than other cars when it comes to keeping them on the road. Maintain regularly and repair/replace anything that goes bad. Just bacause a car has 80K+ miles doesn't mean it hasn't gone through 14 clutches, 8 F1 pumps, and 9 [fill in the blanks]. Of course, those numbers are made up and exaggerated for effect.

22,000 miles... embarking on 5000mi road trip!

Bough at 19,000. Drove it 700 miles home and loved it. Now have a chance at a cross-continental, 2 country trip (Northwestern Canada to Eastern US). 4000km each way (at least).

Gonna try to document it, maybe I'll post my progress.

I hope to keep up the preventative maintenance to reach over 100,000 miles. Currently at about 16,900 on an '05 CC.
Transportation costs, auction fee, eBay fee, and detailing mean he probably netted closer to $2,300 or so.

But it was a zero feedback bidder, almost everytime a zero feedback bidder wins my car, they never pay or it may have been him bidding on his own car.

Why is it so amazing that these cars can run more than 100,000 miles? They have some of the best designed engined around? Or are you telling me that if you run them a normal 12,000 miles per year you should scrap them after - what- five years?

I don't think anyone is amazed that these cars can run high mileage. It's just unusual to see one that has. Most of us use our cars for sunny weekend day toys so the high mileage examples are relatively rare.

Truth is that any modern car, from any make, can put on over a million miles on the frame. Lifespan just boils down to an owners desire to replace parts that go bad.

60,000 european miles. Only one change of clutch and thats only 55% worn. Same F1 Pump.

I only use the car for weekend and holidays...off to do 3k road trip in France, Italy, Swits and Germany in September...ohhhh those mountain passes!

You buy a car like this to drive...If I just wanted it to look at I would have bought some nice photographs.

44,953 US miles!!!

Have put this on my Coupe' since I purchased it new in 2002. Yesterday I drove it to Charlotte (2 hours away) and then drove it back today. Needless to say, it gets a lot of admirers with all the FD mods I have had done and Tubi exhaust system. I love to drive it hard!

Who has or has seen the black 05 GS with 80k+ miles that has since been sold by Auto Connection in Alabama?

That is quite an achievement!

They were asking $38k for it, if I remember correctly.

You want to know about high mileage? Back in Italy I came across several Biturbo-era cars with astonishingly high miles.

The most incredible was a '94 Ghibli II (the twin-turbo, 306 HP 2-liter car) that had clocked up 186,000 miles with only a top-end rebuild and new turbos at around 100,000. By 180,000 the bottom end was very tired and oil pressure was non-existant and oil consumption went through the roof, so the owner traded it in (this was back in 2000) for a 3200 GT. The dealer had the engine and transmission rebuilt, the interior refurbished and resold the car as a "zero-mileage rebuilt" for a good price.

Another one I saw was a 1990 4.24V (4-door Biturbo for the Italian market, 245 HP 2-liter engine) with 90,000 miles being serviced and still running very strong.

Last but not the least... in Germany I found a heavily tuned 3200 GT (it had the Modena-Tec 490 HP upgrade package) for sale by Modena Tec itself with over 80,000 miles. I guess it must have been their test mule, however it was backed by a warranty and still running very strong.

Who says Maseratis aren't reliable? :)

100,000km

...So I'm curious, who has the highest mileage on their car out there? ...
I know it isn't' the highest, but for me, a big milestone just reached! Was tracking my 2007 QP Sport at Mosport yesterday, (yes, I know it is now called the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) and running up the back straight (aka the "Mario Andretti Straight-away) at 210 km/hr, she hit 100,000km. And only one clutch job in that time. Not bad for an Italian car, eh!

I didn't see the one in Bama (my home), but I am tracking one on the West Coast with 85K miles. Would anyone suggest a purchase on that one? Selling in low 30's. Would you buy if in the high 20's? As a result of reading posts, I need to have the clutch and breaks checked before I buy. Anything else to key in on?
