Check Tire Pressure

I have a 2009 QP, and recently started getting a "Check Tire Pressure" message upon starting the engine. I Checked pressure and have filled all 4 tires to spec (32 psi / 2.2 bar). The warning appears, even though it reflects 31-34 psi regularly (I assume due to temps). I thought that this repetitive message may be because there was an error code stored, so I checked codes with my reader - none.

Is anyone aware of how to clear this message, or am I looking at a bad TPMS sensor or the like?

Nearly all TPMS have a required minimum time at a minimum speed to clear. However, it has been my experience that sensors will first show signs of failure when cold. This is apparently designed to get you to F with it a lot because you think the tires are cold and will be ok if you check them and let them warm up because they naturally act odd when cold. Then after going through this cycle several times, you give up and change them. YMMV

The TPMS system won`t display error codes for generic OBD2 readers..I assume that is what you have? That is for only emissions related type stuff. I would put like 35 psi in the tires cold and hit the calibration button on your overhead by the sunroof switch and drive it some...If that doesn`t work you have a problem...There are several threads on here about it, so search those..Eventually, the batteries going dead in the sensors and its best to bite the bullet and replace all 4 sensors....Jason

Thanks for the suggestion, I actually just put 34 in each and calibrated. When switching to the tire display screen, all readings were 34 and white, vs. the error yellow color. Upon restart, no check msg so seems to have worked.

Good deal..you have to take the outside air temp. in account and the accuracy of your gauge..most cars show like 35 and above on the display and the light will go out. a few pounds here or there is fine.. J

Thanks, J. I figured the air temp would impact somewhat - I'm fortunate enough to have a forecast of 83 and sunny for next two days, so will have consistent temps to test against...

I just recalibrate them with a push of a button above my head. Works every time.
