Okay, I just completed the heater core challenge, did not have any moisture spillage inside of the car, labeled everything and hooked everything back up.
At the end of the project, I turned the battery power back on.
The first thing that happened was the alarm went off and I turned it off with the key remote. But there is a light on the IP that shows a car with a lock on it lit up.
The gas gauge, temp gauge oil pressure gauge are not functioning.

Drove it around the block; the tach works but the speedo doesn't.
It shifts thru all gears no problem.

If it were me id try turning battery switch off again. Wait 15 min, turn switch back on and hit ur lock button twice to lock and unlock the car. This will reset ur alarm the rite way and at least u know thats ok. But that light is for the masersti code system warning light. If that light is staying on(not flashing) its telling u the key is not being recognized. Theres a procedure for that. But seems ur car is starting so maybe the reset will fix that to. Worth a shot

Thanks for the info. I will try turning off the battery first, then go through the code procedure in the owner's manual if that doesn't work. ( I do have the code card, thank God.)

I looked through the manual in the fuses section, but I didn't see anything indicating the gauges; I must not know the nomenclature Maserati uses to indicate IP or gauges??
Here's hoping I only blew a fuse or two when hooking it back up, but I don't want to unnecessarily pull every fuse in the car not knowing what one goes to the gauges...

Before u go thru the code procedure why dont u just try the reset. Battery switch off for awhile then back on. Hit the remote twice for the alarm,,,.....then if that doesnt work go thru the code procedure......the manual will tell u which fuse is for what

Okay turned off battery for 45 minutes then back on, hit remote for alarm and no change.
Read the book about the CODE system again, and clearly it states if that was really activating, the car would not start without going through the emergency code procedure. So I do not think that fault light is actually tripped.
I checked fuses 22,25,26, and 28 (anything that might be related) and none of them were blown.
I can only assume Something didn't get plugged back in when reassembled... Damn I don't want to take that dash back apart!

U have four gauges not working plus that light on. Could u have left something unplugged?? Deezamn, i would check every single fuse under the floorboard. I had a dash light problem after a garage changed out a battery once and it blew a fuse.

Took the top if the dash and instrument cluster out and discovered that I had plugged some of the instrument panel wire harnesses into the wrong locations.
Swapped them around turned the key and everything works!!!!!
Word to the wise, if you're gonna do this challenge, make sure you label EVERYTHING very clearly!

I also had the experience of the tach and speedo not working and some idiiot lights staying on. Turns out the 8 pin connector was upside down. Apparently the gauge cluster connectors can be pout in upside down and appear to be in correct position. I had them all labelled. just be sure they are fully engaged and the plastic tabs click in place

Is there any info regrading removing the instrument cluster out there? My instrument panel dimmer works but half of my dash is very well light and the RPM gauge and the right hand side is not. I'm assuming there are some bulbs that need replacing or some connections that need to be cleaned?
