Hi,
My 2007 Quattroporte Automatica (25000 miles on tachometer) tends to throw 2 codes:
P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (bank1)
P0430 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (bank2)

When I first saw this code, I was adviced by Maserati dealer service person to clear it with OBD scanner and see if it comes back. Well, I cleared it and then it didn't come for next few hundred miles. So far, it came back on screen again for total 3 times after clearing it. I do not see any difference in power or driving impression. I am told by someone that catalyst system stays under warranty for 7 years after delivery of car due to a part of emission system in USA. Is it true? Anyone else had it fixed under warrantly?
Thank you and hope to see some replies.

If it is your catalyst (and it might be) they will replace them, or it could be the o2 sensors which would also be under the exhaust warranty. I suggest calling the dealer and telling them it came back, and ask about catalyst replacement before you go back. They will probably just schedule the replacement under warranty before you even go in unless something else obvious pops up when they plug in the sd2/3.

These faults and the degradation rate you're describing indicate catalysts failure for certain. the US EPA law covering he catalysts range up to 8yrs/80k which ever happens first. If your car is an '05, it may not be covered any longer, however since yours is an '07 your should be OK.
