Hi
Floating this one, perhaps moderator may integrate into another thread

Does anyone have a definitive list of what the differences were between the MCV 180 builds & the LEs.

I'm aware of the obvious ones such as the splitter/spoiler, side flags, alcantra trim, extra carbon etc but not sure on items (options?) as sound system, memory seating, bi xeon etc.

Is it worth creating a chart for the 3 variant ie std/le/mcv?

The standard can pretty much have any options. At a later time they released the LE which was a standard car with lots of options included. The MVC is a GS with the MC12 seats (only major difference) and lots of blue carbon parts and a number plate (xxx/180).

I don't think there is a point making such a list, since you'll be re-listing the GS options.

Although I have never had the opportunity to sit in them, those MC12 seats in the MCV seem to be REALLY SPECIAL!!!

I agree with the guys above. All three are the same for the most part with a few differences in trim. LE cars are basically fully loaded cars with full leather. Standard GSs can be ordered fully loaded. However, there are a couple parts that can't be found on the other cars. For example, if you want race seats, you have to buy an MCV. If you want fender shields, you have to buy a 90th or LE. Here are a couple of the exclusive parts of each trim level. All three are rare trims. We know there were 90 Spyders made and 180 MCVs made. LE car production numbers weren't released although they appear to also be very rare.

Maybe others will add to the list.

90th Anniversary Spyder:
Fender shields
Blue weave carbon cowl
Blue weave carbon interior

MCV:
Fender flags
Carbon front splitter
Race seats
Alcantara or leather interior

LE:
Fender shields

The race seats are cool. Not only are they found in the MC12, but also in the Enzo. They would be my choice of seats for the track but not for off-track use. Unless, of course, they were in an MC12 or Enzo :D

Now, if we could get a Gransport with an MC12 engine, that would be an amazing machine.

We should somehow find out the preduction numbers to the LEs.

Txs for the input guys

Reason for asking, i'm weighing up the spec. differences between the MCV & LE given the asking $ premium for the MCV (putting aside the cudos of owning one of a set number which probably is a factor for the $ difference)

A list of std. specs would be useful to bench mark. I realise vehicles can be highly optioned (have notes on what options were offered across the variants)

Anyhow, I have added to Travis's list below, based on Euro info so not sure what was on offer in the good ol USofA

sei sicuro (are u sure)?

Never come across any info on the first or 2nd,

Better high speed handling has been attributed to revised front splitter & rear spoiler

Undiscovered gems (to me), do u have any documentation?

When ordering the MCV it was stated that these were indeed upgrades over other GranSports, no detailed information was given other than: tighter steering response, stiffer standard spring settings, and upgraded transmission software.

Small corrections:

The "upgraded sound system" is actually called "Auditorium 200". It keeps the same head unit (Infotainment) but adds better speakers and an amplifier.

The "Red painted calipers" is actually "Painted calipers", because we had the option of choosing a color (red, silver, polished, etc).

LE - Rear parking sensors may be an option as I looked at a LE without them...

You are right. Also looks like red calipers were standard on the LE but other colors could be used at additional cost.

That is not true, the MCV has no mechanical changes over the GS, I'm guessing the sales guy just wanted to make the sale more solid.
This was information provided and published by Maserati SpA, not the sales guy. I have documentation in DC but I am abroad for an extended period of time and cannot scan for your enjoyment. My assumption would be that the MCV models came pre-equipped with programable upgrades which were not concurrently made available for distribution. As for the steering difference, I believe - as an owner and driver of both my MCV and a previous GS- that there is a difference in steering responce and that this could only be acheived through a difference in either the suspension (possibly programable through Skyhook) or in the physical setup. I will revisit with documentation when I can, though I advise you to browse up on the marketing material:

As well as boasting a higher level of standard equipment than the Maserati GranSport on which it is based, the new Maserati GranSport MC Victory offers a variety of new features that clearly link it to the Maserati MC12, and enhance its driving dynamics. ... The enlarged front splitter of the Maserati GranSport MC Victory generates more downforce at high speeds, as do the extended side skirts, modifications which improve the car’s high speed stability and dynamic responsiveness. Its agility is further improved by more direct and precise steering, creating driving characteristics more closely matched to those of the Maserati MC12.

I am going to try calling Maserati NA about production numbers of the LEs.

Briik,

You could be right, I'll ask my mechanic, but I can't find any real differences between the two cars, I also checked the part numbers and they are all the same (apart from the obvious differences of the carbon parts, etc).

ECU differences won't be in the visible from the part numbers.. who knows...
