Good day all, on this fine forum that I just joined. My 2004 4200 coupe has a problem with degraded coatings on much of the interior trim - the switches and air vents in particular. I think this is a well-known problem in Ferraris and Maseratis of that age, but I don't know what solutions may have been tried. Any thoughts?

I find 70% isopropyl alcohol works the best. I soak the sticky parts in a bowl for 1 minute and rub the surface with white paper shop cloth. You can get a box from Home Depot. Do not rub too hard over area with graphics or they will come off. I did all of my vents, buttons, trims, etc in my Ferrari in one evening. If you want to duplicate the same rubbery texture, you can spray the surface with a can of Plastic Dip.
For professional solution, you can send the parts to Sticky Rx or Sticky No More...but you'll pay for their service and they will laser print the graphics back onto the parts.
