Plastic Granules in Fuel

My 2011 QP has experienced a series of misfire codes. Plugs and coils were replaced. Then it lost power on an incline, as if fuel starved. Investigation revealed fine white plastic particles in the fuel rails. Clearly some plastic part has disintegrated. Any ideas what part and where? Sounds like the fuel pump is the place to start, but if anyone else has had this issue, I'd love to hear about it.

I had the same issue on an 09 QPS I used to own a few years ago. It was fine white plastic particles, very thin and brittle. After i cleaned the particles out of the rail and the injector it was blocking I never had the issue again. Never quite figured out where it all came from but it never returned for over 20k that i drove the car before selling.

The mechanic had collected the particles in a jar, but of course it got knocked over and broken. He had a small number left to show me. I'll see if they can collect more so I can photograph them, and maybe I can get a chemical analysis of them too.
