After mine exploded. I loosened the door card and found the missing copper contact.
This is what it looked like before putting back together. The 2nd and last pic shows the clear slot that fits the black button.
Mine had closed up a bit when i tried to push it on the first time. Meaning when i tried again it simply pushed out it's inerds into the door card!

I have seen a number of posts on the regular problem where the mirror adjustment knob gets disconnected. Mine ( 2015 GranTurismo convertible) has broken loose. The electronic work but almost impossible to adjust the mirrors. The question: as there is a lot of experience with this problem. Do you need to remove the door panel to repair/replace? There is a plastic ring around the control knob and wondering if that pops off to repair replace or do you need to remove the panel.
I put mine back together with this wire tie - works great.

Probably!
But I did tie wrap mine very tight to the bezel, a few moons ago. Maybe that has somehow kept the internals 'cinched tight.' 💪

So, Timado - am I seeing this correctly, is that a zip-tie with a ratchet portion of another zip-tie on it to ratchet down on the end opposite the one with the existing ratchet?

Dang - I have this exact problem and of course who has the solution but Timado from 6 years ago! Say it ain't so! Timado, you gave your car to your nephew? I hope Tim stays a member of this forum as advisor Emeritus or whatever.
Hello friend...gave the GT to my lil bro and he's driving the dog p--s out of it!
And yep, I'm still around. 👍
