Odd Amazon says this is not a replacement for a 2012 Mas GT
Batteries are probably the one thing that is better to buy in an actual autozone/advanced auto parts or oreillies type of shop then on amazon.

The reason why is you get a 2 or 3 year warranty on the batteries at those stories and they are almost always no questions asked replacement on the spot (if its available in store)

Advance will deliver/ship it to your house, for free. Just had one shipped to me last week for my BMW 535i. I was just too dang lazy to go to Advance to get it. :p

But their batteries are POS...Them and Walmart get the worst of what the battery manufacture has to offer...Remember I replace car batteries...A lot of them..I know what I see in our core stack...Sure start, Duracell, etc...Just crap...J

Yeah it makes sense to buy local. I see walmart carrys the ACDELCO but it also is shipped. My issue is costco not near me and not a member and I want to get a half decent battery for this. I know interstates are good but noone carries them near me.

Do you not have a local European car shop? A H8 is pretty common in those cars...They will probably just sell you a decent brand over the counter....J

INTERSTATE AGM H8 will get my vote if I decide its time next year. I haven't had a battery prematurely fail in years.....life on a tender is pretty good. But it is dated 3/18 And was an OE Mopar AGM unit....all batteries fail when neglected. That's pretty much a fact

It is better to handover the battery replacement procedure to an expert service center. I am from Dubai. I always approach Dynatrade Automotive Group, the best auto repair shop in Dubai. They have the spares supply with them . So if it is incoe, dynex, powerplus, bestfits, hitachi, global, industrial, or motorcycle batteries they have the stock with them. The quality of service has made them so popular. They will find out the right thing with your battery errors either it is going flat or not. So I highly recommend with a reputed garage.

Battery changing is a level 1 skill IMHO...right up there with checking your tire pressures, torquing lug nuts etc

That ACdelco Gold battery mentioned is what I use, specifically 49AGM. Installed it last summer on my 2017 GT convertible, works great. I believe it was $150 from Amazon incl shipping.
Thanks! Sounds good to me. Gonna get one. It's odd that Amazon says it won't fit my 2012 but it does say it will fit your 2017.
I wonder why?

I've owned my 2018 GT since May. Have 20k mi on it now. About 2 weeks ago I started thinking about replacing the Fiamm battery. I assumed it was the original. Could not determine date as it was covered by the top assembly. Then last week got a brief warning of ASR/ESC/Shock symbol lights. Learned this was most likely due to a dying battery. Had my local shop install the Interstate MTX-49/H8. Cost: $259.95 + $39.95 Labor + 6% sales tax. None of the date dots were punched out on the Fiamm battery.

as another data point, im installing the aucar headunit/ac system and I left the doors open the entire time and I think the interior lights stayed on while I was disassembling/reassembling so my battery is half drained enough to not start the car.

Since my battery is now out and charging, I seem to have a DURALAST H8 AGM battery that was purchased just before I got the car in 5/20.

The interior lights shut off after a bit as they are controlled by the body processor and time out...I got no love for the Duracrap batteries, but if it is working then I would keep rolling with it..Jason

I meant to say I kept opening and shutting the doors and going from the garage to inside / and out etc for a few hours while removing the dash and then when I was reinstalling it this morning I did the same thing and then I tested all the different functions of the headunit and ac for like an hour to make sure everything works correctly before finally doing the final reinstallation of the dashboard. I think the last straw for the battery was putting the key in and the car in neutral for a while to get the two bolts under the shifter on the dashboard reinstalled, took like 45 mins itself as I kept dropping the bolts and playing the crane game to get it out of the little shifter area. Finally got everything bolted back up and go to turn the key and just hear clicking and the dashboard showing every electrical error possible lol. so I just unbolted the battery and have it on a charger now will try again with a fully charged battery tonight.

I have to admit those plug and play headunits do make a tremendous difference in the interior of the car once installed both looks and sound wise, ill take pics of my unit once everythings working again as I bought the now 5th version of these units floating around ( mine is a widescreen with the sport/ice/esc/park buttons on the bottom of the unit. )

update, since I said I would post pics of the unit I have I didnt want to create a new thread, but here is a few

I know jason wasnt a fan of these units but in person it does genuinely update the interior to look like a 2022 car again and looks very slick and someone who hadnt had one of these cars would

think this thing was OEM, pictures dont do it justice(especially mine with all the glare) but sitting in the car everything looks clean and I have no errors on the dash and after setting up the gauge cluster settings to Fahrenheit/mpg/etc I dont think you really need to mess with it , when you hit the sport button the screen auto changes to the single layout and then normal drivingI have the dual gauges.
