What about the little 'area' on the OEM wiper that presses it to the glass at high speeds does that transfer over to the new wiper or goes out? I ended up replacing just the rubber to keep all in place.

On the driver's side wiper arm I just replaced the insert and kept the OEM arm, keeping that small aero wing/area. The passenger side doesn't have that area so I just swapped out the entire wiper arm and insert.

I think the last set of blades I bought were Trico ( “platinum” or whatever their highest level is ) about half the price of Bosch icon which was the first set I used , and I actually think Trico are better . Fit is OE replacement perfect and even as incompetent as I am ( it’s as if I have two left hands and ten thumbs ) it was a cinch to put them in ..maybe two minutes time .

I change the blades every three years or so even though they almost never see any use here in California ..and if they do get some use it’s not for rain, it’s to wipe off the ash falling on the windshield from the wildfires ..🤪 ). But rubber gets old so it’s best to have pliable, smooth ones in there just in case ..

I pictured you with 2 left hands and 10 thumbs...that would be a gnarly, instant horror film classic!
3 years is fine in Cali. In areas with regular rainfall/wiper use, a seasonal changing is recommended.
