when to use the sport button?

Hello everyone, I have a 2015 coup sport with a sport button that I am not sure when to use it, should it used sparingly? only on the highway? or hit the button when I start the car and drive in the side roads? any guidance would be most welcomed.

ALWAYS!! Sport+manual haha.. just remember that in sport mode+auto the car doesnt shift into 6th gear without you hitting the paddle shifter to get into 6th gear. Handy if you are on the highway in sport mode

NEVER, for any reason, drive out of Sports Mode. I heard if you do, the God Poseidon himself will repo your car...

The only times when driving in non-sport mode may be permitted are 1) if you’re taking a long trip over a consistently bad road surface ( just for some added ride comfort..) or 2) if you’re giving a little old lady a ride to church on a Sunday ;) . Otherwise, 99 % of the time it’s sport mode + manual and / or sport , D , but paddle shifting is a must .

Dan, church lady would definitely want you to be in Sport Mode. I'm sure she would want to reminisce of her younger days, riding in muscle cars. :p

Muscle cars, eh ? Wondering who drove those. Church lady chimes in :

😜 . Hey, I had a 1970 ‘cuda 440 six pack. Definitely muscle car . Fun stuff ! ( as long as you drove straight ahead , no turns please ! 🤣 )

I drive out of sports mode in my street since I don't want to wake my neighbourhood, the exhaust on my V is way more silent when sport is off. But do I love the sport mode! My damping is not affected by on/off sport mode since it's an KW kit

If you married a supermodel - would you marry her with the idea of saving her for the next guy or make her sweat like a hooker at mass? The GT is the same - use it and to use it properly it wants to be in SPORT + MANUAL.

And I'm probably, also, not the last...:ROFLMAO:
And he's right, I couldn't care less!
My ex-wife hated sport/manual mode. Thus the ex designation.

Every time another sports car pulls next to you, especially at the traffic light

Oh boy...that’s going to open this up to a lot of rebuttal  🤣.

We love our cars , but …first, the GT is not anyway near a sports car, so let’s not kid ourselves. More importantly, from a traffic light or stop sign take off standpoint, it doesn’t even show up in the top 100 fastest cars out there . Just for perspective, coming in at number 100 is a time of 2.8 seconds .. so I’m guessing just extrapolating from that figure we may be in the bottom quarter of the top 200 ..just maybe…

Most modern “common” sedans and even a bunch of SUVs will humiliate our GT in a 0-60 race
They’ll hear our beautiful exhaust note in sport mode fading behind them though .. 😒

Not that it’s a slug by any means, for a Grand Touring car it’s plenty quick / fast , but I for one wouldn’t take any chances trying to challenge and impress any sports cars from a stand still. Maybe form a rolling 120 mph on, it could have a decent showing vs. a bunch of cars that would beat us off the line .. I haven’t tested that theory yet .

Nice I have a 73 Cuda, and a 67 383 4-speed Formula S., Love the 60's-70's Mopars, have a bunch. Currently doing a Shaker Hood conversion to the 73.

I sold my 70 ‘cuda for next to nothing sometime before 1980 . The body was in really bad shape ( Cleveland climate and salt on the roads will do that to a car ) , but looking at what restored ones go for now - $$$ - it’s a regret I didn’t hang on to it . Not as big of a regret though if I would have had a 426 Hemi ‘cuda convertible and sold that one prematurely.. I’d be beating my head against the walls now 😛

Yep...I had a couple of '68 Pontiac GTO's back in the early '80's I regret not keeping! With the Hurst slapstick dual gate shifter too! Fun straight line car. All my Navy buddies and I would pile in and go have a blast just driving around getting in trouble like the juveniles we were...good times
