This week We were looking back at some old EBC Brake photos and brochures from 'days gone by' which then got us talking about the first vehicles we all owned (some of these can be seen in our new 'Taking a Break' YouTube series Taking a Brake with the EBC Team | Episode 1: Group CEO, James Hallett - YouTube

So, the question We have is what was the first vehicle you owned and what was so special or, not so special about it?
Was there anything 'quirky' about it? Did it have a name? Did you do any special upgrades to it?

We would love to see photos of your first vehicle and will be sending some free EBC goodies (Cap, Mug, Pen, Lanyard, you know the sort of things!) to a randomly selected forum user.

Get searching for those old photos in those attics/lofts/garages/under parent's beds or just on your phone or computer if you are from the younger generation.

We can't wait to see what you all used to drive, and I am sure occasionally push!

My first car was a Renault GT Turbo Raider with the colour coded wheels. No real modifications to be done so kept it standard, which in those days was more than enough. I wish I still had it as it would have made me a small fortune......

1980 Buick Regal Sport with T-Tops. My parents bought it the Summer of 1979. I gave my dad $1000 for it in 1983, my sophomore year in high school. View attachment 136621
Let's send you a couple of free EBC gifts, drop me a PM with your address.

A 1968 Ford Thunderbird Landau Coupe. 429 "Thunderjet" V-8 and a bulletproof C6 transmission. Not the quickest off the line, but with all that power and a 2.80 drive ratio, it was a rocket on the open road.

Restored, this would be one sweet ride today!

My first car was a Volkswagen Beetle.
My second was a BMW 2002.
My third was a Lotus Elan.
Then I saw an article in Car & Driver naming the Ten Best cars of all time, and all three of mine were on their list (for different reasons of course)!

A black Pontiac Firebird, naturally aspirated pedal wheels, had a wonky hood that wouldn't close all the way and a door that would pop off, because I was 3 and it was a plastic mini replica of my dad's real one. And yes it had that huge bird on the hood!!! I would pedal around in that all day and that gift is why I love cars.

First real car was a 95 Acura Intergra LS that was only a few years old when I first got it when I was 17 and I drove it until the engine literally blew up. My dad somehow found a way to buy it for me as a going away to college present even though my family wasn't well off at that time since I grew up in a single parent/income household after my mother passed when I was young. He always found a way to help me out financially while I got through college and he sacrificed a lot. So in return, I was gonna buy him a new car several years ago but took it a step further and bought him a new condo since he'd retired. Take care of your kids and hopefully they take care of you down the road!! :)
