I guess it was my passenger-side rear tire. RIP OEM Michelin Pilot Sport - you lasted 11,600 miles. Amazingly, at 80 mph, the car still felt completely normal other than the loud racket the tire started to make.

Lucky that the alloy seems undamaged... and that you could safely pull-over

Lost the right rear GdYr F1 (12000mi) at 85mph. Slowed to 80 and pulled off the 10 fwy Palm Springs. No damage. Car handled beautifuly as always. Then remembered no spare tire. Ugh! Tire was underinflated, my bad. Rolling on new F1s now, sweet ride.

11,600? My stock PS' lasted 8000 and were BALD! I just put Kumho ASX's on. A little hard so some wheel spin but they should last longer than 8000!

Glad you're safe!
