Started on the radio change out, a bit of a PITA. not because of the system, but the previous owner had a Parrot Evolution installed and had the main control part placed in the ashtray. Whoever done the install had epoxied the on off switch in so now I have a new shift surround coming in. I am just going to snip the wires for it and tuck them in. Otherwise I would have to remove quit a bit more, like the console and such which I really do not want to do. Hopefully I can figure something out, will try to get some pictures tonight so you can see what I am talking about

I mentioned about posting some pictures of the wiring mess from when the PO had a Parrot CK3000 Evolution installed and found a box for a Blitz Universal iPod interface, have connections to disconnect, repair a couple of wires that were cut and spliced into, in another words, a mess. So I guess it will take me a bit longer for the install of the new radio. Tis will be a bit heavy on pictures, with further ado, here we go.

Just notice this, 2 of the pictures show as if they are sensitive but they are not, when I looked I saw why, because of the angle of the picture and the set color :LOL:

Ok, so I got all the wire mess that was in there from the PO, went down to garage tonight and connected the system up, but have a couple of questions (I know the PIA is back:rolleyes:😆). After connecting the wires I had 2 left over, and thinking they may be for a phone and TV hook up. Pictures Below. Also my controls for a/c, heat and such do not work as well as the buttons on the left,; the ones for sport and such and two on the right, lock and unlock. Found the clock setting and made the setting but the clock on the dash did not set. How do I get the car symbol off the lower left corner of the screen, and how do I get to the different menus completely set up. I am sure I will have other questions down the road. Only wish they supplied a manual for these, at least a downloadable one.

well, turned on the ignition and the climate control still does not work or even light up. tried the WiFi, but would not connect to mine even though my laptop does down in the garage, and seems I can only get 1 radio station and even have both antennas hooked up. tried the navigation and it won't even locate Lincoln Nebraska and I am 70 miles from there,. there are some other things but nothing urgent at this time. as said before, the should have either provided a manual or a way to download a PDF of one, But am very impress with sound quality from the one station I did get

Has anyone come up with a solution for the System not programmed on the dash, so far I got nothing

Hi Mas-lifers - has anyone figured out a solution for the "system not programmed" issue? I know Daverb46, Megaman and CZTrader were searching for answers. Those who have installed the AuCAR installed for a while, what can you share about your experience? I think an error message on the screen would be annoying but is the unit reliable otherwise?

Thank you, in advance, for your response.

Like others I am still working on the Message Problem. I will say I am not discouraged by it as all other functions work and love having a Navigation with a bigger screen and one you do not need disc for (The old one Maserati installed was old technology) and the sound is great, so much much better than the old. So would I do it again, yes I would

Thank you for the feedback, Daverb46. Did you ever figure out what was causing the climate control not to work or even light up with the AuCAR unit? I also noticed that most of the photos I've seen of installed AuCAR units show the hazard/blinker red button placed on the top right whereas the factory position is on the bottom below the factory climate control buttons. Assuming the wiring for it is long enough, is that just a matter of repositioning the hazard button?

Since you said a good set of instructions do not come with the unit and I have not found anything online, I am trying to learn form those who have done it and avoid down time with my QP torn apart ;-) I am hoping to remember to video the process so that it can be available to others in the future.

Thank you, in advance, for sharing your knowledge.

Yes I found out what was wrong with the climate control, I mixed up the connector for the clock and climate control so all is working, Don't know why I forgot to take pictures of that before unhooking (Old age maybe??)😄 as for the hazard button, yes the wires are long enough, Another thing I found out is to use the power connector you get with the unit, the connection is much tighter. For the Navigation, I used the antenna puck already in the car and works like a charm, got that idea from a past post.

Many thanks, Daverb46. I think I remember seeing that AuCAR offered a newer version with Apple CarPlay along with Android Auto on their website but it was only for the Granturismo. Regarless, I will be placing an order today and the adventure will begin when it arrives.

Thanks for the guidance.

Hi all, my Blaupunkt HU in my 05 QP said goodbye earlier this week, so now I need a new HU and is considering this AuCar unit. But - has anyone fixed the error message appearing in the instrument cluster?

And since I`m a Norwegian, I do need DAB+ (as for the UK guys) - anyone seen a solution to this?

If none of the above is possible to fix, I guess I go for a used OEM unit (if it`s possible to find one) and put it in the trunk, and a new modern HU with DAB+ and car play instead with a steering wheel button CAN adapter. In this way I can still adjust the clock and no errors in the instrument cluster. And yes I know I have to adjust the bezel/surround to fit, but some 3D printed plastic adapters and a retrim in leather (or filler and paint) should take care of that.

Let me know guys, I need to fix this :)

I still haven't found a solution to the "system not programmed" message but everything works, I am not in Europe but there is a DAB+ attachment available as an optional item for these. With the functions available, like the navigation, and blue tooth for example I can manage with the message even if it is a bit annoying but not enough to give up on the system and the sound quality is so much better

Hello,

nothing yet, i have not received any status updates on this issue.
any luck?

Any updates on System Not Programmed? another member installed and has the same issue. i tried reaching out to engineering but no response if they are working the problem. the bad news is not i can't get car smog because the Second Air System is not synced or cycled... firmware update to fix recall for this issue cannot take since the System Not Program message is dispalyed interupting the CANBUS.

My friend will deal with the climate control issue on his newly acquired '08. It's in the shop for the installation of the new tires from 4 Wheelonline, plus the alignment. I'll share your tips to them tomorrow.
