Straightpipe....
Well, I took my 02 Maserati Spyder GT to Sports Car Repair in Houston for some exhaust mods. I originally contacted them to install a Tubi system but he wanted me to first see what some mods could do using my current equipment. First, we tried to open the mufflers and remove baffles. Removing the baffles didn't create any additional noise so I went to plan B. Next we removed the mufflers and put on straightpipes. My original concern was that it would be too loud and sound too raw but luckily the resonator keeps things sounding good. I am pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the results. Sounds deeper during idle, isn't very loud at cruising and gives it a bit more throaty sound when I get on it. Still can hear the engine as sound is not overpowered by exhaust. Definitely not as loud as Tubi or Larini but am I pleased with the results. Plus, given the current economic conditions, I was happy to save a few thousand $ going with this option......
