My 02 stick shift 4200 GT has noise from the torque tube/transmission that transmits via the parking brake lever. If I rest my hand on the end of the lever, the sewing machine chatter noise stops. My car has the handbrake cable mounted on the torque tube. I have heard from the main dealer that they have had no complaints but that many cars they see do have the cable mounted to the body, maybe a later update. The noise is only slight but distracting when cruising. Any suggestions.......other than turn up the radio.

My Quattroporte has the same issue, but I have not yet solved it...
If your Quattroporte is a F1, then the two cables that lead from your rear wheels meet at a junction attached to your torque tube housing. That mount is insulated by discs made of the same deterioration-prone material as the shock hyperblocks. They eventually dissolve to brown dust and leave a the aluminium connections behind, causing noise that transmits from your drive train and changes with the revs/transmission speed.

There should be a kit available for replacement. I made new bushings out of plastic washers from a flat-screen TV mount lol. They're silent, look stock, and will last forever.
