My car was originally spec'd with run-flats, but I bought it without run-flats. Since picking it up from the shop, the TPMS has twice said that I had a puncture, in error. A couple of recalibrations and long journeys appears to have resolved it.

However in reading the manual, a question comes up. The TPMS reaction of pressures seems different depending on if you're running run-flats. For example,in the event of a puncture a screen appears informing you of the puncture and suggesting a max speed of 50-mph, in contrast to the normal message of puncture and do not proceed.

So is it possible to switch the operation of the TPMS and/or ECU to respond with appropriate message now I don't have run-flats?

Clearly this is not a problem as such, but my curiosity won't let it go.....

Dave, Good question. I know on the QP you can select the tire on the car with a factory tester and program accordingly. I do not know about the 4200's.
I have never seen this dillemna. I will find out and report back to you...
