I replaced all my TPM sensors ( on a different car ) on Saturday , because one failed, and when that happens , with the car being 8 years old, chances are the rest are not far behind. The tech ( who was pushing 60 if he was a day, so has been around for a while in that line of work ) , said that in his experience TPMS average about 7 - 8 years longevity, but some may last 12-15 years . And then he said something which made no sense to me ; that it also depends on driving habits ..the more stop and go , the faster the TPMS batteries drain, as opposed to highway driving . HUH ?!
Anyway, is there an average lifespan for our cars‘ sensors ? One would think the more expensive sensors the longer they last, but it’s doesn’t always work that way I suppose ..
