Hi Guys,

Can someone tell me about average tire wear on my Quattroporte? It is shod
with Pirelli P-Zeros all around and I just replaced the rear tires at 9,000 miles!
Is this normal? Note: I use the car for a daily driver 6 months of the year
and Do Not lay down rubber.... Would Michelin Pilots be a suitable replacement when these wear out? The Pirellis lived up to their name--they
were the stickiest tires I've ever had... Thanks for all you help in the past
I've learned a great deal from this website about my car--its triumphs and
shortcomings.
Also where can I buy a spare tire kit at a reasonable price. The dealer wants
over $1600 for the whole kit (tire,jack, etc.) Girlfriend won't ride in the car
unless I have a spare... (sigh)

10k is about the most you will get out of the PZeros and that is usually driving on cords. The fronts usually last till about 14k-15k but watch the inside edges of the tires, that is where they wear.

Now, would you happen to know if Michelin Sport Pilot tires are suitable
replacements & would these wear like a regular Michelin tire (40k or so)?
Are there alternatives with Yokohamas--a tire I've had good experience with?

Other than the Maserati dealer, where can I get a spare tire/jack kit?

On my GS the Pirelli P Zero lasted less than 4k due to excessive wear inside front tires!
Changed to Michelin PS2, which do last longer, now over 10k and still good, BUT they do not give the same traction, in my opinion Michelin are too hard. I think of going back to Pirelli when I need to change.

If you are getting excessive and uneven tyre wear you may be in need of a wheel alignment.
