I don't know how many QP are on this board. What changes do you want for the next/updated QP? My list:

1. slightly more power (but that will be always in my lists) - looking out for the 470hp version :)
2. Better F1 gearbox especially in stop-and-go traffic and auto-mode also easier on the clutch
3. very long 6th gear or even better a long 7th gear for those long highway trips at steady speed (get gasoline consumption / motor wear down)
4. better brakes
5. Navigation improvement - best a touchscreen a la TomTom (very easy user's interface!) with a memory slot to upload your own points-of-interests (like fixed speed traps ;-) )
6. the comfort seats are too expensive for what they offer - improve masage/adaptive function or better offer also only heated/ventilated seats at a discount (heating/ventilating works fine)
7. more stowing space in cabin (where does one put their sunglasses, coins, remotes etc)
8. less motor sound insulation / louder exhaust: want to hear it more or better with exhuast valves so one can choose
9. upgrade air-conditioning
10. bluetooth! Don't need another phone just a good bluetooth connection for my phone

and some minor ones:
11. replace reverse handle by button a la Ferrari (I am afraid I'll pull it off one day...but where to leave my sunglasses without it?)
12. Launch control?
13. Race setting? Even more lenient than sport but MSP not completely off...
14. start button...

leave the rest as it is.....so far my favourite car. By the way some of the above was addressed by the Sport GT. Waiting for a full review by Mark....

everything above. JGT knows his QP. 1,2,3 are really needed.
(4. the brakes are quite okay actually)

- slightly larger trunk (at least 2 full size samsonite)
- a little more weighted steering feel
- smaller steering wheel
- heated seat and comfort seat controls where you can see it (or hidden but you can actually see what you are controlling)
- less erratic air con system
- B&O ICE option, no bose please.
- okay, Ipod or video Ipod integration...
- more legroom in rear.
- more choice of color options (just kidding).

indeed forgot about those very badly placed controls below the seat....Don't go 7-series solution neither. I am not a big Mercedes fan but the S-class solves that nicely! Would also be happy with slightly larger boot indeed....

. the keys are not very upmarket and very fragile! The remote rubber buttons on my keys broke twice already!!!! The keys of my 745i (with metal buttons) were much better / more robust.....

HAVE SEND THE LINK TO MASERATI SO KEEP THEM COMING, you never know...

I agree with everything you have already listed. I like the Duo Select Transmission, even though a little update would be in order software-wise, to make it more comfortable and more aggressive in sport mode. How about a DSG like Audi. The Audi DSG is probably the best gearbox I have ever experienced in a car and it would fit the QP perfectly. The comfort seat controls should be incorporated in the HVAC control, dare I say it, ala Cadillac. Oh yeah - Keys definitely not up to par for Maserati!!!

Other than that agree with JGT the QP is the most engaging large sedan out there.

QP fixes

Firstly the QP is a beautiful car in every respect. I took mine this weekend on a 1500km drive from London to Chablis and back. "We" are now starting to know each other and there are many things I have started appreciating more (speed, handling on mountain roads, interior space, leather smell).
However anything can be improved;
1. Gearbox in auto mode (fixed in Sport GT apparently)
2. The comfort seats adjustments (massage, heat, vent buttons)
3. Bigger ashtray (so I can put parking coins in it)
4. Lighter socket inside the middle compartment and in the trunk
5. Proper mute (speakers are always on and have a static)
6. Navigation system with touch screen and memory for two countries or more
7. iPod plug (who uses CDs these days?)
8. Engine bonnet latch is hard to find/grab
9. Heat insulation of trunk (exhaust heat is not good for transporting fine wine!)

Agree with JGT: 2 (F1), 3 (7th gear), 5 (satnav), 11 (reverse knob)
Disagree with JGT: 4 (breaks), 6 (seats), 8 (engine sound), 9 (airco)

Gosh, you guys are good. I have 40K miles on my 05 QP and can't add anything and pretty much agree with all.

Would love for the seat massagers to actually be useful. Another cup holder would be good. I gave up on the Nav and bought a Garmin; works so much better it brings tears to my eyes - Thanks to the Garmin and a few months of therapy I am no longer plotting the slow and painful death of the Navteq system designer. Plus I can move the little portable unit from vehicle to vehicle and bring it into the house or hotel for trip planning.

On second thought I can add a couple things: higher quality sun visor's and mirrors w/better lighting. And in-dash CD changer. And something other than the GIPE (Good Idea Poor Execution) center console with heating and cooling - reduces avalable space, makes the thing clumsy to open and isn't very useful. With so little storage in the car who can keep the console empty so it can keep a drink cool? Would be nice if the rear console were deep enough to be useful.

toffe, my mute button works without static. may be you should get it checked.

anyone wants a stiffer feel to the suspension? on my 05 with sports package and sports mode on, the car doesn't roll much in corners but it still feels 'floaty'.
