No I was being sarcastic. It seems very complicated even when someone has it all "figured out". Most Maserati drivers are not the DIY type and the ones who are like me do not have all those skills needed and access to dealer scan tools to sort it all out afterwards. Just dont think its practical as an upgrade unless someone can do it all themselves on their own car.
I tell you what, if I get this working I'll flash the TCU for free from anyone who asks. If we get the data tables out of the bin file, I'll post all the source on the forums as well so that anyone can DIY their own shift profile if they want.
It certainly isn't straightforward or quick, but the possibility is interesting.
The process is the same as hacking the ECU for the maps that people purchase for their chip tunes. The difficulty is building definitions. The easiest way to do this is just to change things and see what moves. With the TCU, having multiple versions will help because you can see what has moved without needing to do it yourself.
You're right - it isn't encrypted. The proper term is that the data is obfuscated from disorganisation.

I found a scan tool for Maserati on Amazon.com, for $850, it was a good deal, Launch X431 Pro Mini, it arrived and it works!
now, does anyone have the specs or instructions to do what needs to be done to the transmission?
Are the heater cores on these models the Achilles Heel as much as Craig Waterman suggests on his site? Craig suggests that EVERY Coupe, Spyder & GS will eventually have this issue. What have been the experiences of owners & pro's here regarding leaking heater cores & subsequent replacements on...
When ordering rims, what size or bolt pattern size do I need to ask for? Any help would be appreciated. Also, sorry if I am not allowed to use a picture of another forum members car.
This is the look I’m going for:
Has anyone got instructions how to remove the exterior door handle on a 2005 4200/ spyder car.
Reason for removal is a bit of the cheap sintered metal loop that holds each end of the door handle in place when you lift it has snapped, so it lifts out on one end when you pull the handle up.
