Does anyone know if the (Spyder) GS's 'surfboards will fit on to a 2002 Spyder? What about them fitting a 2002 Coupe?

The bodies are the same so (if you really like those ugly things) they'll fit. I personally prefer a surfboard rack with a Hansen long board on mine. Oh how I long for the good old days.... Those old freakin' hot doggers from back in the day would drool over my maser. But then again, I doubt they ever got rid of their beach cruisers (bicycles for the uninformed).

Forgot to add that you may have to modify the mounting holes on an 02. But the body is the same shape.

yes, if GS spyder to spyder, GS to coupe.

not sure if buzz read your question carefully.

so, if your question is asking if the (Spyder) GS's 'surfboards will fit on to a 2002 Spyder, then very likely yes.

What about them (Spyder GS's 'surfboards) fitting a 2002 Coupe? no.

The coupe has a wheelbase 8.6" longer than the spyder.

if you want to fit them on your 02 spyder, you need one from a GS spyder.

I suspected that the bodies were the same, but better to check than be sorry later. By the way, I never was crazy about the 'surfoards' on the Gs's, but wanted to do something to modify the rather conservative styling of my Spyder, after a neighbor called it a Mazda Miata (on steroids).
Now I actually like how the extroverted body styling on the GS makes it look more exotic...

on the diagram they look close enough. different part number for screws.
perhaps some modification is necessary as you were told.

perhaps someone who has actually done such a swap can help you.
