Recently I took a 1500 mile trip over the course of 6 days. From Monroe County in TN I headed S on 68 (wonderful road for Maseratis), then over the Southern Highroad across North GA and into the SC Upcountry. There were many places to enjoy driving a Maserati along this section. From Westminster and Clemson I headed to Columbia and was only able to do a small amount of backroads. Still a Gran Touring Maserati on an interstate is nice. Next up was Columbia to Conway and back. Lots of flat land with some nice roads, but a bit more traffic than I like. (Also ate at several really good seafood restaurants - yum.) From Columbia to Raleigh, NC. Time constraints here so I took the interstates.
From Raleigh to Roxboro and then on to Winston Salem, before finally heading back home. The final leg was long but no time problem so was able to drive the windy, twisties that my Maserati was born for.
Took many photos of friends and relatives with the car. (The gals all wanted at least one picture of them in the drivers seat - the fellows not so much.
) It was a big hit with lots of Ohhhing and Ahhhing over the engine and raising and lowering of the top
On the entire trip I did not see any other Maseratis at all.
Next time I'll try harder to get together with other enthusiasts.
