I have 2003 Maserati Spyder convertible open top. Gave the car for servicing and to fix check engine light to the dealer at maserati of central nj located in EDISON NJ , they called me after 3 days and and the car is fixed and also claim that the convertible cover below part broken before I drop the car for servicing, which I dont believe them , now they have estimated for 16,000$ for the replacement part. Can anybody have this part or help me where I can get this.

Speaking about Spyder tops in general, I've had my Spyder for just over 2 years now and in that time I've had various situations where the top won't open or close and they've been simple fixes, found the answers on here or SportsMaserati, so quite often not the big money job some specialist quote.

I've had my 02 Spyder for 6 years (drive about 3,000 miles per year) and I've not had serious problems. My car is garaged so I'm not constantly putting the top up and down. Only problem was a line started to leak but I was able to fix it with a connector. Repair Coupler For Automotive Convertible Top Hydraulic Hoses, Lines or Pipes | eBay The straps that are for sale on this forum do fix the problem of the top not folding properly but I've not had that problem. Another problem is that the latches on the cover are not set properly and they jam and then the mechanism fails. If all else fails put the top up manually and you've still got a great sports car.

If you are having a problem with the hydraulic unit shoot me a PM and we can speak on the phone. At this point I am very familiar with it as I just had to diagnose an issue that caused my to scuttle down a rather large rabbit hole in learning the hydraulic system in these cars.

EDIT - long story short, there is literally zero reason to buy a new hydraulic unit/pump. Parts are out there if you know where to look and have a bit of ingenuity (ie: scavenging parts off a CLK system that can be had for little money comparatively). If you are not the type to play with things your existing system can also be rebuilt for around 1K.

Sorry to ask perhaps completely at the wrong post but do you know how I can hook one of my roof tensor cablesat the spring part? One side is loose and roof leaks lots of air. I can see the cable and its loose at the spring part

I have the same problem with this cross member lock cover.

It's missing in my roof. I don't know if it's broken and left somewhere in the roof (I can't feel anything) or the previous owner had had something done with the roof. But what I know for sure, it's not there.

Does somebody know how to replace it?
