Nope, that is your A/C fitting..It does generally have a cap on it...Jason

Looks like the low pressure port, which typically has a black or blue cap with an "L" on it.

There may have been a previous attempt to charge up the a/c or cap was lost during a service. Cover it up with a proper cap or anything that will keep out moisture and dirt. Trying to add refrigerant through a dirty port can introduce contaminants into your system.
