Had the same problem myself with the same resolution. Apparently this is very common with chrome wheels. The other problem with chrome plating (apparently) is that the process weakness the metal slightly and increases the likelihood of cracking.Just a word of advice. I had a very slow leak in one tire and my mechanic had a hard time tracking it down. Turns out some of the chroming had flaked a bit on the inside edge of the rim causing a tiny break in the seal! If you have chrome rims and are losing some air, you might check that. All it takes to fix is emory paper away the flaking bits and viola, good as new.
