Guys,

I got too close to a curb in carpool yesterday and now I have scuff marks on my far side wheel rims. They are the factory silver (not chrome) 19 inch wheels. Are these things painted or metal? Any idea what the cost or repair for this type of thing is?

Thanks.

Sorry to hear. :(

If they are stock wheels then they are painted. Not sure what you guys are paying in the US but I have a travelling repair guy I use in the UK pretty regularly and have negotiaed charges of aound £50-£60 per wheel i.e. $75-$95.

The finish is really professional and lasts (at least until I scuff them again!).

I know the feeling of scraping the wheel on a curb. I did it within 2 days of owning the car. I have the 20" GT wheels
I took it to a local detailer who used a traveling repair person. The guy did a phenomenal job of repair and color matching. The place charged me $105, which I was happy to pay. I thought I was going to have to buy a new wheel, it was that bad

If they are ball-polished then they are a pain to fix...only a few shops can do that properly. If you are near NYC then there is a guy in New Rochelle who quoted me $250 per wheel which I thought wasn't bad. Miller Motors in Greenwich CT use him.

The same in Vancouver only if you do two or more if not its $300/rim
